The Economy, it was 4 fucking years ago!

We aren't talking decades. I was there, you were there. We had high unemployment and a questionable recovery from a global pandemic, where America fared worse that many other countries.
We went through a period of global inflation and corporate greed where we fared better than most other countries.
Because of Biden's leadership, inflation is curbed, unemployment is low and wages are up.
The Economy is better by every metric under Biden.
How do people not remember that Trump was a failure, it was 4 fucking years ago?

The overwhelming majority of Republican voters are stupid. The overwhelming majority of Republican voters should all be voting Democrat.

THEY are NOT In the 1% 2% or 5% of the most wealthy members of society. THEY are in the rest of society. The middle and lower class. The Republican party does not give a fuck about them. The Republican party are for the people at the top.

ERGO The 95% who vote Republican are stupid. They are voting against their own self interest. In recent times, they are listening to a con man, liar, and a cheat who has manipulated the ever living fuck out of them to vote against her own self interest. With his ridiculous Rally parties that they all can't wait to get to.

When some of these dumb shits have finally figured it out that they've been had, of course they can't admit they were wrong to the likes of us. So some will continue to vote for him and even when he tells them he's gonna be a modern day Hitler. He's not even hiding it.

So to say that they continue to be stupid is a huge understatement. Just fucking morons.

They live in an alternate reality from the rest of us.

We go shopping without fear - they're told you'll get murdered when you try to shop for bread.

We live in small towns and large cities across the US and go about our business with no issues - they're told towns and cities around the country are on fire.

We live and talk with people from all walks of life and are better for it - they're told rapists and murderers are coming to steal our jobs, rape and kill us and our pets, and take all of the welfare.

They thrive on hate and fear and refuse to look past their noses. And I'm not sure there's anything we can do to get past this.

But the media seems to be giving Trump a pass on Covid, even though he botched it badly leading to the inflation and economic downturn. But the bigger problem is people just believe Trump's "greatest economy ever" nonsense. Before Covid ever hit, Trump did not have some great economy. His jobs creation record was flat out bad. He inherited low UE. Growth was tepid at best. The rich were doig great, but wage growth was tiny compared to under Biden and basrely kept up with inflation. More people were uninsured. Retirment accounts were lower. Crime was higher. Before Covid hit, things were not great under Trump.

I saw how many young men listened to him and learned to hate democrats. This was as far back as the late 70's and Rush was full force out there on the AM airwaves polluting young people's minds.

And it seldom was challenged. Air America had a brief stint, but liberals weren't much for listening to AM. I never listened to it after 1973 when I graduated from high school and moved from my small redneck town to the metro of Phoenix. It was all FM after that.

But I would still run into rednecks who would preach the "wisdom" of Rush.

People are buying up tons of stuff and corporations are charging high prices because consumers will pay it.

I'm not sure if I'm still stealing people's jobs or their pets or both somehow.

https://signalpress.blogspot.com/2024/09/democrats-are-always-better-for-economy.html

The stock market has reached record territory. Economic policy of the current administration has led to the quickest, and deepest recovery from the inflation that affected the global economy, and has managed it well, with interest rates and a careful balance of spending which has kept a recession completely out of the conversation. In spite of the fact that we went through the inflation experience, and did see a rise in fuel prices, we also experienced wage growth, once we went through the COVID fluctuations, that topped out at 6.9% and has managed to stay relatively high, compared to the Trump administrations figures on the same economic measure.

And we've had steady, GNP growth at 3% or higher. Sustained.

And of course, we have had the longest period of sustained job growth and low unemployment in literally decades. The last three Democrats in the White House have combined for the creation of 51.3 million jobs, while Republicans in the White House since then have accounted for 1.3 million. Of course, Republicans have tried to convolute and twist those facts a thousand ways from Sunday, with no luck, because they are facts that can't be disputed. The last Republican in the White House accounted for the loss of 2.7 million jobs, another indisputable fact. And while there was a pandemic going on, mismanagement of it from the White House, inept and incompetent by the nicest of possible descriptions, was a major cause of the loss of jobs and the high unemployment inherited by the Biden administration.

when I got my flu and COVID shots today, she handed me a $5 store coupon, so I immediately asked where the toilet paper was. With a potential dockworker strike coming, I figured that since what we ran out of first four years ago was toilet paper, I'd use my $5 coupon and my 15 minutes of waiting to make sure I didn't have an anaphylactic reaction to get a head start on kinda-hoarding toilet paper..

Anyone with reasonable self-awareness remembers just how fucked this country was 4 years ago.

You know there is an alternate reality when over half the country thinks this multi-level loser is better at handling the economy, especially given some of the shit that has come out of his mouth in the last few weeks.

That we even have these conversations is a stark example as to how effective the GOP war on education has been.
