90-minute debate. I was really happy when I heard that Secretary Pete was working with Tim to make this a Win in our column. It's not like Tim needs a lot of polishing, but careful prep is always called for, as experience has shown. I know his voice is one of those easy-on-the-ears voices, unlike Vance's thin, uninteresting one.

I am strangely excited by this debate. I hope he does well. I think it's more showcasing how inadequate Vance is, rather than worrying about perfect answers. It is scary to have JD Vance one heartbeat away from the Presidency. I expect lying, as that is what they do, and they don't seem to have any platform other than P2025. I hope that some of those lies gets called out, but I don't expect them all to be corrected. Still, this is an opportunity to expand on our vision, and present a positive outlook on the nation (we are NOT a failing nation.)

1. Most of the time when I've heard from Tim Walz...

...he's funny. If he has a few funny moments it will get picked up by social media and this will help. Really, though, most people don't care about the VP debate. I heard on Thom Hartmann's show today that 25% of the country don't even know who these two men are. There won't be a lot of viewers and hardly anyone's opinion will change as a result of this debate.

For political junkies this is must-see TV; for nearly everyone else there is something more interesting. Forget about gotcha moments; go for the funny.

2. The difference between the two is stark. Walz is passionate, on point and great with public speaking while

Vance is mousy, wicked and measured. Walz will bring up substance issues like abortion, healthcare and the excellent hurricane response. While Vance will try character assassinations like his football coaching, military career and failed hurricane response from the white house. They're personalities are night and day. It should be interesting.

and I am confident that Coach Tim will put the game out of reach tonight.

4. I hope Walz...

1. Goes after Vance's stupidity on the "eating the cats" controversy and makes sure to ask why in his own state, Vance has done nothing to help them.
2. Goes after Vance's flip-flopping on Trump, i.e., "America's Hitler." (Seems like Repubs always like to play the flip-flop card to Dems' detriment.
3. Asks about eye liner and makeup. (yes, a joke)
4. Asks why in the world Vance wants to let Putin have Ukraine
5. Exposes more on Project 2025, especially on Social Security, Medicare, Education, Health Care, etc.
6. Asks Vance why he wants to sell the U.S. off in pieces to the highest bidder.

And anything else along these lines. Don't play nice with him. Vance is a snake.
