but it is incredible to actually hear what he said.
This sure adds even greater import to Tim Walz impassioned plea to Americans about the choice they face next month.

(1,631 posts)Who is P5?! I'm sure it's possible to figure out who the lettered individuals are but it would take a long time.

(3,851 posts)Early reports were misunderstood by some people.
But in the seemingly complete list of redacted names Mike Roman is P5.
Of course, Trump was very happy with the riots. He certainly didnt try to stop it for a long time.

(6,267 posts)That quote alone is going to play hard.
Vance: Trump peacefully transferred power.
Trump: Make them riot!
The rest will follow.

(21,876 posts)You are being duped by misinformation- it was another co-conspirator who that quote is attributed to, not Trump.

(45,966 posts)"P5" is described as a "campaign operative" who was a co-conspirator.
See page 8 of Smith's brief.

(45,966 posts)In fact, Trump wasn't even in the room when this was said by a campaign operative in Detroit.
That doesn't mean it isn't relevant to Smith's case, but it doesn't do us any favors to repeat misinformation.
Silent Type
(12,412 posts)Some white wing henchman said that.
Like the way Smith has reframed the charges as election related, rather than an official duty. Further, he states trump knew he lost.

(49 posts)The redacted names are listed on Page 4 - P5, who stated the misatributed quotes above, is NOT DONALD TRUMP.
""MAKE THEM DO IT" "MAKE THEM RIOT"
Those comments were made on November 4 by a campaign staffer regarding counting going on in Detroit....NOT on January 6.
Let's try and be somewhat factual, people....

I think it's a viscious insult to suggest anyone here is damaged or should be shamed for accepting this is something he likely said.
I'm more inclined to feel chagrined by anyone defending him here for any reason.

(5,312 posts)but what did Trump do to discourage it? He, as leader of his own campaign, set the tone used by all his underlings throughout the period in question.
