End of short rant.

(26,593 posts)I found it in my spare room for the 49ers game, And it's unplugged again.
I get my news from DU, moderated and trash-filtered, and Hacker News, moderated, and politics is discouraged or deleted.
I get 1000% more info than I need, almost entirely without the orange jackal. I do in order to create fun graphics, though it makes me cringe to do so.

Dumpster's a good place for him.
And his plan.

(2,937 posts)At 73, I have, as many this age do, concerns about length of life. I eat pretty well, don't exercise much but I'm ok. But you know what? I absolutely REFUSE to die before this planet is trump-free. Of course I have hobbies and do things (I'm on a plan to learn something new each month, so far Tai Chi, baking bread from scratch, origami, building a model from a kit, and this month is learning to play a song on the recorder--upcoming is learning a magic trick or two or three, and making beer at home), but my goal is to live in a world without that asshole. I'm sure we will see and hear about him for months after he is gone, but having him stop breathing will be the beginning of the end, and I look forward to that. Yeah, yeah, there will be another one, but not with that whiny voice.

(25,126 posts)Obviously, you mean Trump.
But I could think you mean McConnell, Graham, Boebert, Greene, Gaetz, Tuberville, Cornyn, Cotton, Cruz, Grassley or any of the other disgusting anti-American losers.
There are so many Republicans who profess views that are antithetical to the American democratic experiment. It's beyond curious that they claim to be patriots while they plot the destruction of our republic.

Best we can hope for is a rapid and fulminating case of dementia. His or ours, don't care, either he forgets everybhing oir we forget him.

(8,180 posts)And wondering . . .
Is Trump an incompetent ignorer of the Law, the Constitution, human rights (etc) or a genuine contender for the POTUS job?
Is he going to jail, or the White House?
Some see him one way, others in America see him the other way.
He can't be both.
Is the PoT (Party of Trump) that delusional?
Will Gerrymandering, fiddling with voter registration at the State level and Electoral College flim-flam make the popular vote irrelevant?

A sturdy old woman (sometimes referred to as an anxious lady), wearing a shawl, approached Benjamin Franklin and asked him, well, Doctor, what do we have, a republic or a monarchy? Franklin replied sagely, a republic, if you can keep it.
What needs to be done to keep that Republic from degenerating into a Dictator-Trump-ship?
Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
