At Relief Center 1 after Hurricane Andrew we got a box truck full of board games…which got snapped up quick. This makes perfect sense once you got over the “what in the holy fuck” phase…our relief center was guarded by MPs and US Marshals, so mom and dad felt safe leaving the kids there while they were working to put the roof back on the house, and the kids needed something to do while the parents were away.

Just got net back an hour ago. Still no cells, all towers are down.
We got a long long way to go. So many are really hurting. I got wind damage I can repair. My daughters home has wind, water and down tree damage. I am chipping away at hers.
My biggest concern is her. Trauma nurse at Mission right at ground zero Asheville. Still no water, power or food there.
She did 4 straight 24 hours shifts during the storm.
When she finally got home for a short break, she walked in crying and curled into a ball in my arms.
Said she would rather do a month of Covid care than what they are facing.
So many horrific stories of lost lives, swept away children from parents, on and on.
We need to remember, Moses Mike and GQP were within hours of shutting the gov down as the storm was coming, demanded by Trump
Imagine the hell that would bring on top of the disaster.
