I didnt!
Trumps social media companies are now being sued for allegedly misleading their investors!
Just another fake, failed business venture for Trump. All he was doing was grifting from investors and the public! It is his shtick, ripping people off and saying that he wasnt at fault!
Metaphorical
(2,632 posts)This was a gamble, and any investor who put up money should have known it going in. Trump was going to beat Biden, and Truth Social would have then become THE right wing social media hub. I don't think any of those investors thought that the situation would change so drastically, but even if they had, that's politics for you.

(13,961 posts)Trump Social was kinda doomed as soon as Musk acquired Twitter, making Twitter the de facto Right Wing social media site. No need for a Right Wing-specific site once extremism was allowed back onto Twitter.

(269 posts)That business venture was nothing more than a back door way to get money into his pockets. Campaigns must account Super PAC money. This way they dont have go through that hassle. I just read that tons of his bibles have been purchased in Oklahoma for schools.
What is scariest though is the crypto scam he is attempting. Untraceable money coming in from who knows where. As if it wasnt bad enough Jared got 2 billion from the Saudis, and Von Shitsinpantz got 10mil from Egypt, we would never know how much he could get or what he would owe foreign entities for buying into it.

The judge on Friday granted summary judgment to Florida-based United Atlantic Ventures LLC in a lawsuit filed against Minnesota-based Odyssey Transfer and Trust Co., a business that handles securities transfers among registered shareholders.
UAV is owned by Andrew Litinsky and Wesley Moss, former contestants on Trumps TV show, The Apprentice who also helped facilitate a merger that took Trump Media public in March.
Since then, UAV and Trump Media have been battling in courts in both Delaware and Florida over UAVs stake in the company. Attorneys for Trump Media assured a state judge in Delaware earlier this year that UAV was entitled to an 8.6% stake and would suffer no merger-related dilution. They now contend, however, that UAV is not entitled to its shares because of pre-merger mismanagement by Litinsky and Moss.

(76,536 posts)There was soubd business model. It was idiocy to think all but a small crowd of true believers would leave Twitter for that platform.
And, it was equally easy to see that major advertisers weren't going there until there were enough eyeballs to justify it.
This was a failed business before they ever launched.
Thing is, a lot of investors may have purchased shares out of obeisance to the fuhrer, not because they examined a prospectus. So, did they really get defrauded? Or did they just throw money at a wish & hope?
Did those people need to be lied to in order to invest?
