We took our son, his gf, and our grandson (18 mos) to a Fall Festival near here. We live in a reddish part of Bucks Co. PA, and I hesitated before putting on my Kamala t-shirt. Then I thought to myself (and announced to my husband) that I was sure we were going to see lots of red caps, so screw it.
I am overjoyed to report that I did not see *one* MAGA cap, t-shirt, or any other political paraphernalia at this event, which had hundreds of people in attendance. Additionally, the diversity of the people there was so heartening, I actually felt hopeful about our county's performance on election day. There were families of every color; I caught at least four different languages being spoken, there were women in hijabs--it was truly wonderful. Plus the kid had a great time.

(113,973 posts)my favorite "lucky" red Northface hiking cap. Everyone used to know me by that hat, but I haven't worn it since at least 2016 when MAGA hats started to be everywhere.
I'm a big Georgia DAWGS fan too, but I sadly have never worn the red team cap with the big 'G' logo on it. Sure folks should be able to tell it apart, but from a distance, they don't. Black, gray, or white emblem caps certainly don't get the same response.
Damned MAGATs. DAMNED Trump. AND, I am equally worried about VANCE.

(1,718 posts)that I got just before MAGA happened. It's a great hat, and I am a Colbert fan....but it's bright red, and from a distance it's not particularly differntiable from a MAGA hat.
My only consolation is that I live in Wisconsin, so there are enough Bucky Badger red hats, that it's not QUITE a lock that any given red hat is MAGA. Especially when we visit Madison.

(29,634 posts)The groom's family was Chinese and red is a lucky color so in the gift bag, everyone got a red baseball cap with white lettering with their cute wedding motto.
No, we never wore them.
Your post made me laugh a little.
I have a solid red, fitted Under Armour hat. The only logo is a little white UA off to the side. I just throw it on when I'm working outside or something. Like 2 days ago it hits me for the 1st time - the bright red hat I've been wearing occasionally could be mistaken for one of those dumbazz hats.
Can't have that!

(8,275 posts)When I finally got it my order was over cooked beyond recognition. Oh well.
Got a lot of hard stares but no issues other than that.
Plan on wearing mine to death anyway.

(1,569 posts)a wonderful thing, when no one pushes and preaches division, hate, and lies amongst us.
30 days and it's all over. And Trump gets what is rightfully his. JAIL!!!!!

(114,616 posts)Probably a lot of those people will still vote for TFG, but they won't be proud of it. My guess is that it will be a long time before we get the far right in full schoolyard bully mode.
Most of that is because Limbaugh is still dead. Yay!

In a town by a navy base, so I had employees from all over the world. At one time we had every continent covered. I called it our little United Nations. All of us appreciated that we were all together and learning about other nations. The food was the best when someone would bring in a native dish for us all to try . I had hoped it was a picture of how America lived.

(169,761 posts)with the book-bannings and whatnot and the people in those townships that made up those districts, regardless of party, booted them out, I think Bucks Co is finally seeing the light.
I am *hoping* you guys can once and for all, get rid of Brian Fitzpatrick. NO MORE REPUGS IN SE PA!

(4,555 posts)It makes me think. I often read about people here who post about living in a red area and wonder "how do they do it." Then I remember my parents retired back to PA after they retired. Their last residence was in Cumberland Co which went red in 2016 and 2020 (they had passed by 2020). They were quite at home there in their complex for the aging. I remember my father telling me when I was about five to never discuss politics or religion (fail). And my mother was a bit of a social butterfly. They were both beloved neighbors and my mother did have a core group of progressive friends inside and outside of the complex/community. So I guess it's doable.
