In early September, we stopped in Savannah, GA on our way to FL. Of course there were confederate flags along I-95 and lots of TFG signs that sounded like he was the second coming of Christ. I was shocked that the NBC affiliate sounded like Fox News instead of just local news!
We are currently in Ohio about an hour south of Columbus. I am surprised to see more Harris/Walz signs than TFG. In the really rural farm areas you can see the GOP signs, but not what you would think. There are more Republican signs in my hometown!
HOPE!

(12,731 posts)Where the destruction was not as deadly, there are many many trump/vance signs. But
.right beside every damn one of them is a Mark Robinson sign.
That could be a serious negative impact having the ole Black Nazi attached to his fat ass.
And I hate trump avoiding red signs, as do many repukes. They make the signs blue to confuse.
One I see a lot of is, Vote for the Unborn, Trump 2024.
One really sick display. A wealthy tax avoiding Floridiot up the mountain behind me has a life size full color window sticker on the back side window of his truck, of that orange ass hole, (a side view with that fucking pointy bang sticking forward) looking like he is a passenger.

(44,062 posts)I laugh when I think of the pick up truck I saw here in this neighborhood. Obviously old money type family. A big expensive pick up truck with a big expensive paint job that said Biden crime family all along the side of it.
Micro plastics packed in the skulls.

(114,505 posts)I remember the ex's reaction to "The United Klans of America Welcome You" billboard at the NC/SC border. He was Boston born and bred and couldn't believe his eyes.
All I said was "Why do you think I left?"

(7,583 posts)his grandfather died. We drove from San Antonio to Dauphin Island in Mobile, AL to attend the funeral and burial. His father and mother drove to the cemetery, with me and the hubs in the back seat of their car. As we drove into the cemetery, there was a "white" burial side and a "black" burial side. My mouth dropped open and as I was getting ready to say something like "I would think that in death, no dead body would care what color the dead body next to them might be!" my hubby begged me not to say anything until we got back to our hotel room. He knew me ALL too well in these types of situations!

(61,178 posts)There are pockets of blue but the MAGA are loud and obnoxious. Put a sign out for any Democrat and someone will steal it. Put a bumper sticker on your car, you just might find yourself in a road rage incident. Meanwhile the rednecks drive their lifted trucks around with the giant trump flag waving behind them.
That said, the county has a very active Democratic Party, Charleston is heavily blue and more people a retiring in South Carolina from blue states.
I drive an hour into the low country everyday, roads that through passers rarely see. Outside the one moron who has had a 10 foot trump sign, the only trump signs I see are in public shoulders and medians. There is a large African American population in the rural areas, these are the people who helped Biden win the SC primary in 2020. There are a fair amount of Harris Walz signs in yards.
The issues is getting them to vote and and making sure they are allowed to vote.

(2,008 posts)and our Dem candidate signs are being stolen/removed almost as fast as we can get them distributed. I've driven through neighborhoods where there may be dozens of Harris/Walz one day and the next they're all gone. Some folks are on their second and third allotment. Security cameras and other deterrent measures don't seem to concern them. They're just extremely bold and brazen.
