I see it all the time here. When hurricane season starts or some potentially lethal weather event occurs in a red state, some people here make jokes and say that they deserved it. It is weirdo behavior and, frankly, rather psychotic.

And they can't see any further than that. Florida is run by Republicans, so everyone must be a Republican.

Of course, in reality, nearly half the voting public in FL are Democrats, but we'll just ignore the 10+ million people they represent.

Even if they were all Republicans, this kind of stuff is pretty misguided.

That said, I apologize to anyone offended or hurt by my post. I thought my use of Gawd would have communicated I was being satirical.

I have a dear friend who is in Milton's expected path of destruction and I fear for his and his family's safety. It is horrific and tragic beyond words what is happening there and I should have been more sensitive. Meanwhile over the last 8 years the MAGA crowd posts far crazier and hateful things about Democrats without a trace of satire.
