Trump Continues to Push Misinformation on Hurricane Relief Despite Condemnation from Biden

Donald Trump continued to spread misinformation about hurricane relief efforts despite President Joe Biden condemning his comments twice today. Trump also attacked various hosts who interviewed his opponent in the presidential election, Vice President Kamala Harris.

During a briefing on the federal response to Hurricane Milton, President Biden directly called out Trump, describing the misinformation being spread by the former president as an “onslaught of lies.” Biden also responded to bizarre claims made by Trump ally Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who suggested that the government controls the weather.

Biden: “Former President Trump has led the onslaught of lies. Assertions have been made that property is being confiscated. That simply is not true. They are saying people impacted by the storms will receive $750 in cash and no more. That’s simply not true. They are saying the money needed for this crisis is being diverted to migrants. What a ridiculous thing to say. It’s not true. The claims are getting more bizarre. Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene is saying the federal government is literally controlling the weather. We are controlling the weather. It’s beyond ridiculous. It’s got to stop.”

Despite Biden’s public comments, Trump again made remarks at an event in Scranton, Pennsylvania, suggesting there was no money available for hurricane relief because it had been diverted to migrants.
