I have read a number of posts speculating about why Trump would rally in California and New York, most guessing that he is doing it to help down ballot candidates in order to hold the House. That might be part of it, but I think he's doing it because he made a deal with donors to appear at some time in the campaign in exchange for large donations. California and New York is where the big money is and Trump, if nothing else, is purely transactional. This for that. The art of the deal, etc. I think it is as simple as that.

1. He lied yesterday about winning Colorado its all part of his rigged grift

If he loses he will claim that if CA and NY were "rigged" against him than the swing states like PA, MI and WI were as well. He is getting ready for his second January 6th coup

2. Sure, that could play a part, but

even the most rabid Magats would not expect him to win in Cal or NY, so I don't see how that could possibly help him in any Jan 6 reprise.

3. He's delusional. On January 6, Joe Biden will still be the president.
