Simon Rosenberg
So, a short thread about why it is so important to Trump that it be perceived that he is leading in the polls when he isn't.
In sum - it is his campaign's primary strategy to obscure his historic ugliness. 1/

Trump may be a rapist, fraudster, traitor and 34 times felon but he is leading in the polls and is strong.
Trump may be a dangerous extremist, a bigot, misogynist and a racist but he is leading in the polls and is strong. 2/

Cannot stress enough that Rs would not be dropping dozens of polls into the battlegrounds to move the polling averages if they thought they were winning.
Harris leads by 4 in PA in new NYT poll. More red wave polls there than any other state.

Trump may want to end the global economy which has made us prosperous, end the Western alliance which has kept us safe, end American democracy which has kept us free but he is leading in the polls and is strong. 3/

Trump is leading in the polls and is strong is a way to make all his ugliness disappear. Which is why his campaign is working so hard to create a false impression that he's ahead. To Trump it is arguably the most important "issue" in the election. 4/

Republicans are going to extraordinary lengths right now - red wave polls, releasing "internals," Polymarket voodoo - to try to make it look like Trump is winning the election when he isn't. Democrats should not be helping them.

Part of the tRump normalization agenda that is so repulsive and disgusting .

(87 posts)2. The reason the legacy media are pushing these polls is simple.
To wit, "if Tr*mp wins, think of the ratings!"

(18,995 posts)6. Ratings won't matter if he shuts them down
Mainstream media doesn't seem to understand that a Trump victory will mean their demise.

"News" happens when things change. A set of doctored polls plays into the media's thirst for a 24/7 fire hose of "news".

JMO but I think by the time Harris inauguration comes round hell be really sick. The only thing keeping him going right now is his cult and the narcissistic feed he gets from it.

aka mis/disinformation.
Fun Facts:
Oct. 8, 2024, 7:04 PM ET (AP)
Misinformation is the inadvertent spread of false information without intent to harm, while disinformation is false information designed to mislead others and is deliberately spread with the intent to confuse fact and fiction.

Therefore, disinformation can become misinformation. In his case, it's all just propaganda. To remember the difference think:
'D' >
> disinformation>
> deliberate.
