...but it has long been an extreme conservative fantasy to eliminate almost everything the federal government currently does and have it do border protection, run the military, diplomacy, and little else. Everything else would be eiliminated. With no services, almost all taxes could be eliminated and tarriffs would pay for it all.

...have zero credentials on the matter. There is also a lot of "shock and awe" when it comes to alt-right polemics: when they're told "you can't say that!", they immediately retort with "oh, yeah, we're gonna say that!". They don't seem to care that what they're saying doesn't make any sense. I mean, Trump has never manufactured anything...even his dumb MAGA hats and other tchotchkes are outsourced to some Chinese prison labor camp. Why should anyone listen to what he says about making products domestically?
