Wishful thinking concerning the election

Let's say (pray) that everything indicates a landslide for Democrats, led by Kamala and Tim. What are the odds that the convicted felon would flee the country? I mean, does he have his passport and would he need it if he fled to Russia?

I'd read that initially passport was taken, then returned to the pos.

They were included in the documents seized. The passports were logged and returned within a couple of days.

2. What reason would Trump have to flee, at least any time soon?

Oh, I can see why he'd eventually want to bug out of here, but why rush? The glacial pace of "justice" is no threat to Trump anytime soon.

There's no reason for him to leave. Even if he's convicted, it'll likely take years for the appeals to happen and it's highly unlikely he'll be held in custody pending trial in any case.

The only place I ever see stuff like this is DU and the occasional random blog. It's a pipe dream.

It will be interesting to see what he does, what with the Nov 26 sentencing looming. I don't think Merchan will sentence him to jail, maybe house arrest, but will Trump take that chance? I'm fine if he flees, goes to jail, or croaks, just get him off the national stage!!!

He'll spend no jail time for anything. Nor house arrest. Just more hamburgers and golf. Abstract painting with ketchup.

8. Trump is far too accustomed to getting things his own way to leave.

He needs to control his environment and everyone in it or he gets defensive. He must be the center of attention. Other countries would only placate him for so long, if that.

He loses, he's of no real value. (Hasn't been able to steal any classified documents this time around)

The man is lazy on all levels. Too lazy to adapt to any place other than the narcissistic reality he has created for himself at his various golf courses.

He loses, and he is counting on getting the Nixon treatment or to die before his appeals run out.

In addition to all the reasons you laid out, I have to question the idea that exiling himself to another country would even be a viable option.

First of all, I've never bought into the trope about him fleeing to Russia. It's based on the assumption that Pootie would welcome him with open arms, and I don't see any reason why that would happen. As long as he has a chance of getting back into the White House, he's a useful idiot. Without that, his usefulness to Putin ends.

There are other places he could go, of course, but the same principle would apply in the majority of cases. Nobody really likes him, and with all his criminal convictions and pending indictments, I think he'll be an international pariah.

The only reason I can think of for Russia or any other country to shelter him would be to send a great big🖕to the most powerful country in the world, and that would be a stupid thing to do. Send the U.S a🖕and the U.S. and all of our allies would send it right back.

Putin's already in the doghouse with us and the rest of NATO (not to mention the entire Eurooean Union) over his invasion of Ukraine. Why on earth would he or anyone else be willing to stick their neck out for TSF?

I don't think even Jared's Saudi buddies would touch him with a 10 foot pole. It's in their best interests to maintain good relations with this country, and they're not stupid enough to jeopardize that.

As you said, Trump's not going to want to leave this country, and I don't think anyone else would want him anyway.

He’s too much of a grifter and if he loses he’ll grift the loss for years.

I'd bet almost anything SS has contingency plans for any sign of an attempt by tfg to leave. Remember, he's a convicted felon, free on parole before sentencing, so his travel is formally restricted . SS works closely with law enforcement and is responsible for their ward's travel plans. He can't take off without their approval, and if there is any doubt, SS will seek confirmation all the way up the chain of command to the WH.
