Doubled up rags are what people used for centuries before.

And there was that time in 2021, I was laid up half blind for a couple weeks; there was only one other driver but(working 12 hours a day) and others in the house were with Long Covid brain fogged, lazy or broke to either get TP delivered or go out for a long walk to the nearest store to get some.

I had the grandkids cut up an old sheet and we made due until the other younger healthy adults figured out what they had to do instead of of depending on Grandma to hold their hands and stop depending on fast food delivery instead of going grocery shopping.

Earthquakes are possible here; our local neighborhood emergency team made the point several years ago that in the case of “The Big One”not really even any large earthquake, the local fire department would be unlikely to make it into our neighborhood for over a month.
