talked a little softly and walked with a stiff gait, it was game over according to the media. He was obviously unfit in their eyes and needed to drop out. That's not an exaggeration. The NYT demanded that he leave the race. There was no hesitancy, no equivocation. The media had no trouble using plain language and stating the "facts" as they saw them.
Now? DonOld is losing his mind in real time, swaying to music and grinning instead of taking friendly questions at a staged townhall, dropping out of every venue where he will face real questions in the last days of the campaign, lashing out at the Al Smith dinner because the audience won't laugh at his mean spirited insults, and spewing gibberish at every opportunity. Not enough to spur the media into coverage even approaching the coverage of Biden for much less questionable behavior.
Today, the corporate media faces a new test, which they will fail. His own campaign says he's exhausted. I challenge you to imagine what would happen if Harris's campaign said she was exhausted as she repeatedly canceled events. We would literally hear about nothing else until election day.
It is indeed a very sad state of affairs when Don Old's campaign is more honest about the candidate's campaign than the "journalists" covering him.

(25,519 posts)But I hate the way MSNBC tiptoes around in the morning, both sidering everything. They act like they're afraid of DonOld. I think I'll stop watching until the evening hours (or afternoon since I'm on the west coast.

(29,807 posts)...to criticize and abandon President Biden was disgraceful and infuriating.
Given the mass defections, I think he made the right choice to step aside, but if anyone ever earned a second term, it is this hard working public servant who has devoted his whole life to this country and its people.
My heart breaks for him and Jill.
