(Canada)

He's never had a real job but he pretends he is one of the working middle class. He went from university straight into CONservative politics.

His favourite slogan is "Axe the Tax", referring to the carbon pricing placed on fossil fuels. The middle class gets more back from the rebates on the pricing than they pay.

...that he conveniently ignores, is the externality of climate collapse.

The bill is coming due, but clowns like this urge us to ignore it.

Gaia always balances the books...

3. The Corporations are the Axe...
Fri Oct 18, 2024, 05:29 PM

...and we of the 99% are the trees.

We have given our power to the corporations for the illusion of creature comforts. But when you give a "God" your power you no longer control your own destiny.

The "God" convinces you of his omnipotence. He will supply your every need.

You don't know how your water arrives, how your power is generated, how your words leap from a keyboard to DU or Twitter or Facebook. That is all the purview of the "God".

Obey him and your needs will be met. Disobey and your life is over.

But all of these things are delivered by people, not Gods. When we remember that our lives are deeply intertwined and that our power lies in the fact that we are the forest, the axe wielded by our imaginary "God" loses it's power.

It's as if the Axe never existed at all...

Already long ago, from when we sold our vote to no man, the People have abdicated our duties; for the People who once upon a time handed out military command, high civil office, legions — everything, now restrains itself and anxiously hopes for just two things: bread and circuses.

But seriously...
(I'll say again) It's the White Man's Pass. The republican party is very white and very male, much more so than the Democratic Party. White men have always received the more credit, passes, and reverence in America whether or not it's been deserved. White male Democrats do not get the same White Man's Pass as republicans due to their affiliation with a less white, less male party.

For a convicted felon adjudicated for rape who suggests taking highly toxic chemicals for COVID and an all out liar (everyone wanted Roe v Wade overturned) to be competitive in a presidential race can only be America's doling out of the White Man's Pass, yet again.
