Mr. Palmer and my father knew each other. They both came from poor families. As a youngster I knew him as a gentle, talented man. We would have our family reunions at the club--swim, play and eat. at no cost to our large extended family. . Everyone in the area knew Arnie and the work and money he put in the community. We were shocked when he died. I didn't know if he was a Republican or Democrat. And you know, it didn't matter because he was a good man. He basically built up the Latrobe area with the money he made. I watched the rally Trump made about Arnie's private part and I was and am sick to my stomach. My face was hot from the embarrassment of watching that asshole make a mockery of that soul. For him and his assholes to share that story if it was true or not was a shame. You disrespected a man who has no way to defend himself from you scum and your scum followers. I hope to be around when you crock. You have one foot in the grave now and I will be glad when the other foot is in. Oh the three Steelers you introduced are no longer playing all were let go for being a "cancer" on the team. and for abuse of a wife or girlfriend.

(43,850 posts)I lived in Pittsburgh a long time back. I knew Latrobe. I truly liked the folks there though many were conservative. But decent conservative. Its horrible what that monster has infected so many with. I hope your people are okay.

(24,266 posts)to Latrobe and denigrates Arnie Palmer in front of the home crowd! Sickening. Also, Antonio and LeVeon everyone in the crowd knows their history. I think Trump is trying to lose, but I dont know why. He is such an asshole. Jagoff.

(24,266 posts)an article that said the Mon Valley Steelworkers Union said to support Trump! My Dad retired from the ET works in Braddock (44 years) and was a union steward and delegate to the national conventions for many years. A Democrat his whole life. This is sickening.

And sane people have pointed out that their parents would be turning in their graves to no avail! These descendants of the steel workers are just trash now.

(24,266 posts)read about yesterdays rally and that AB and LeVeon were there. Not to mention the dissing of Arnold Palmer. Tonight the Steelers are honoring the 1975 Super Bowl winning team. Legends. Maybe Trump will diss them next 🙄.

(4,791 posts)The area used to be a beautiful blue then Richard Mellon Scaife bought up every local paper and would not allow a picture of a Democrat on the front page of his papers. It is a very ugly red area now.

(4,952 posts)In the 1960s and 1970s there swirled urban legends as to what has been said in some exchanges between Johnny Carson and his guests. Those urban legends held that Carson made quick repartees to double entendre openings proferred by his guests. I do not want to repeat the urban legends which I heard because they may not be true.

that area and I heard stories that Arnold was friends with and I was told that even when
Palmer was one of the biggest stars in America and around the world he was very nice and
always classy. He would call his country club golf pro friend and ask if it was OK to get a meal
or shoot a round of golf and what time was good for him.
Thank you for your story about your late father and Arnie!
Btw Is Trump trying to lose by 30 million?

tRump is a despicable asshole. How dare he?
"Palmer was a Republican and donated money to Pat Toomey, John McCain, Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum, and George W. Bush. He was approached on multiple occasions by the Republican Party encouraging him to run for political office, but he declined on each occasion".
Can't really say that a person who donated to Rick Santorum and Bush was a "good man".
