Here's my current anxiety powered worry about the election results

Ever since hearing about that sheriff in Ohio who wanted info on what houses had signs for Kamala, this is the thought that haunts me. What if others in that loony cult have been patrolling around, taking down the address of any home with Harris/Walz signs. It wouldn't matter what the outcome of the election is, they will feel empowered to strike out. I live in a very blue oasis in mid-Michigan, surrounded by some deep red town(ships).

Now, that hasn't stopped me from proudly putting out my sign and it will stay put. My Biden Harris sign remained on display, inside the front, screened in porch, visible to anyone who looked towards the front door.

It's just one more thing for my anxiety to gnaw on. I will be taking one of my prescribed 'chill pills' every day, for as long as necessary.

Just to show how serious I worry about this, I'm going to be fully stocked up on me food/beverages and kid cat supplies so that I won't have to leave the house for at least 2 weeks. I really am that worried. It might sound a bit OTT to some, but I think anyone with an anxiety disorder will understand.

I'm sorry you're feeling this way. I know how awful anxiety feels.

This little kitten, to whom I am now a mom and a playmate, is a champ at distracting me from my inner and outer 'demons'.

Because like their fascist forerunners, they will stop at nothing to ensure that they always remain in power. Fear and hate have always been their favorite weapons. But look at it this way. None of us are going to live forever. And while we are on this earth we have to do everything in our power to fight this evil. Stay strong.

I'm a Navy veteran. I spent 3 years attending a weekly anti Iraq war rally when we, on occasion, found ourselves in the cross hairs (quite literally) when people pulled guns on us while screaming threats. The FBI took down our license plate numbers. People veered their cars at us and threw things at us. I traveled to DC and Chicago to attend some pretty massive marches. At times I was scared but that didn't stop me. I used to carry a stack of enlistment forms to hand out to anyone who started screaming at us and calling us cowards (several of us were veterans). Believe it or not, no one every took one from me.

But there's something about the fanatical devotion of this cult. They are so delusional and angry, which is a dangerous combination.

If it's triggering an anxiety disorder so profound that it results in not leaving the house for two weeks.

And perhaps unintentional but none the less perceived condescension is an unhelpful way to approach someone with anxiety.

12. Coping strategies are key to successful treatment

If we're at happy pills and hiding out for weeks at a time, maybe different coping strategies are required. It's not behavior to be normalized in any way, because it's not a good method of coping or treatment.

People with anxiety watching the news and chilling on social media is like watching an alcoholic treating their condition by hanging out at a bar.

But people will do what they do.

We are not allowed political signs in this complex. Trumper took down his flag

In my blue oasis in rural Spokane. OK it only me (mostly) but I found a blue paint splotch on the road in front of my home. I spotted it right away and no paint can in sight. The splotch was in place where it would not be removed. Weird coincidence or something more nefarious?

Siwsan, keep your chill pills nearby.
