As an aside...

Of COURSE “immigration” is their number one issue because when Texas flips Dem, they’re done. They used to have California but that ship sailed. In some ways, they’re not entirely stupid.

But we do have some good news from yesterday. The Dallas Morning News endorsed Allred after he clobbered Cruz in the debate (they also endorsed Harris/Walz, as did the Houston Chron).

I've been bullish on Harris - I think she can win. But I've been less certain about Texas turning blue. Allred taking Cruz's seat would really make my Roevember.

But I seriously doubt it. The Republicans use immigration as a battering ram but if they truly wanted to fix it they would have. They have used it successfully for 30 years in Texas.
We all know that even if Allred beats Cruz (hopeful but doubting) Allred will be a lone voice in the wilderness here.
