Ok. I voted today. Had to do signature verification with a little cotton swab looking thing.

I managed it okay but it felt pretty awkward. First time I have voted in person in a while and don't recall this little "utensil" before. Is it me? Otherwise, everything went fine. Red county in North Central Florida. Me and about twenty other old white people in line.

I think that is correct. But I am almost positive the stylus was wooden. After using they go into a big bowl. dameatball Oct 2024 #8

Sounds like it's almost purposely designed to result in a different signature than when an actual pen is used. Think. Again. Oct 2024 #13
My thoughts too. Or at least make it easier for questions to arise and make it more difficult. Unnecessary. dameatball Oct 2024 #15

Apparently, the software performs a comparison with the digitally archived signature.

ON EDIT: I could not think of the word "stylus." Thanks to the DUer below who stated that term.

got one the last time that was about the size of a cotton swab and was white.

This time, they gave me a pen with the stylus on one end and I got to keep it and it's blue!

The end was slightly flexible. I managed it okay but it seemed like a thing some people might have trouble with.

Think. Again.

It'll work like your finger does on a smartphone touchscreen (like when you swipe one way or the other). Here's an article that explains it for those who understand such things (which doesn't include me):
