(28,836 posts)All SCOTUS did was reject the further appeal. I'm not sure what any of that has to do with handing the election to Trump.
This case was always problematic because the circumstances under which someone can sue are extremely limited. It was on that basis that the lower court dumped it.

(46,228 posts)He lost at the district court. He took it to the Second Circuit where a three judge panel that included two Biden appointees ruled unanimously against him. He sought rehearing en banc where he needed to get 7 judges out of 12 to support his petition -- there are six Biden appointees and an Obama appointee. He failed again. So he went to the Supreme's with a petition for certiorari in a case where there was no indication of any judge having been convinced by his previous pleadings. Grant of a petition for certiorari is rare and it was utterly unsurprising that the Supreme Court did not grant Cohen's petition -- one of more than 60 they denied today. And no Justice indicated that they would have granted his petition.

(12,763 posts)We need to reform that court as a first order of business if Harris wins. BUT WE NEED CONGRESS and the SENATE to do it. Along with everything else: restoring Roe, restoring voting rights, passing the No Kings act to undo the courts asinine Trump is a King ruling and so on.
