So, i wasnt sure, where to vote

And live in the middle of MAGA land. I moved, changed precinct, but nothing else.
I called local Democratic number, explained .my situation, as I hadn't changed my Driver Liscense, yet.
Iwas referred to, the Office of Elections.
I once again, explained, my screw up, ( I hadn't changed Addy on my DL)
Iwas told, come in, vote, tomorrow. All ya need is one piece of mail, with physical address on.

And then she said, " you voted a few times here, you had the daughter, in the wheel chair?"
I said " yep life, threw me a curve ball"
She said," early voting, is in our office , got your address updated. Vote tomorrow, your card will be here"
Politics, don't matter.
Being a decent human being, does.

She's a Repub I discovered, but you'd never know that without researching her background. She acts as non-partisan as a person can possibly act. And I appreciate it. In 2020 there was some confusion for me, too... and I told her I was adamant about voting and knowing that my vote was counted. She stayed with me through the process, while making sure I had complete privacy to complete the ballot. Never once did I ever feel any wave of anything but concern and duty coming from her. She was as adamant as I was that I was going to have a vote that counted.

As a whole, I have had no problems with people who are manning the polling places, or involved with elections in one way or another. Everyone has seemed very committed to doing the job to the best of their ability, and if it goes beyond them they find someone who does have answers.

I just worry about these "poll watchers" I've heard of so much. I did early voting at our courthouse, so I didn't run into any. Just the security to get into the building may have been enough to discourage any mischief makers.

Quietly, quickly. But with 1,
LOUD VOTE,
and allow me to say, slightlv, this will be my 12th presidential election

Im worried, that you had to add, the " poll watcher" thing,
to my post. I was never scared , voting. And won't be.
If a " poll watcher" is there, I'll just walk on by,

But thanks, for adding, some hatred to my post.
It's kinda DU right now, isn't it?

I didn't even mean to add that, hon. But even in my little town, we've got people out and around the courthouse... they don't let them inside (I don't think they could get past the guard who took a good look at my cane!)... we just have to be aware of what is around us. I live in an area with a bunch of militias... and people who think they're of that ilk, anyway. I tend to stay away from crowds and be very aware of my surroundings, regardless. When you're only 4'9", it doesn't take much to feel claustrophobic in a crowd! (LOL)

I usually do in-person voting at my little polling place. I like the camaraderie in the smaller settings. Haven't been to a place that had a line like this since Clinton. It actually was a little exciting, and the women who helped me insert my ballot and I got into a lively discussion of how great it was so many people were intent on doing their civic duty. I've gone up and down on the depression scale from one day to the next. This day put a smile on my face... especially as I saw (for my first time ever) my grandson proudly put his "I Voted" sticker on his shirt, as he headed back to work.

A couple of more weeks, and this phase will be over with, hallelujah... and then we can dance and celebrate in the streets, which I am most definitely planning on doing with a nice bottle of mead (or two).

I've lived in very red areas and very blue areas, and I couldn't tell you which was which based on the workers at the polling locations. Everyone has always been professional and courteous. I think they all take their responsibilities seriously.

I think the poll watchers will have fewer opportunities to wreak havoc than we might imagine. Security at the polling locations will likely deal with them if they attempt to do anything untoward or try to harass voters. In my experience, they've been quite attentive to the surroundings.
