(4,736 posts)Last fall with the reproductive rights issue on the ballot I got a note from someone in CA! It made me happy to think that someone was working with us from afar! It will be interesting to see what Ohio does.

(40,544 posts)If we in Ohio can only pass Issue 1 and un-gerrymander our state, we could get more Dems in office here and that will lead to much better things. I keep reading that it has a good chance of passing.

(155 posts)Our straight blue ballots went in Monday's mail. I just checked and they are both "being included in the election results".

(38,609 posts)I got one (despite the fact that I've written postcards for years, serve as an observer for years, have voted in all but 2, maybe 3 elections in the past 5 decades, and door knocked for Democratic candidates. My daughter also got one.
Both were the creepy version. (Who you vote for is private, but whether you vote is public record.) I hate that version and have rejected it every time it has been offered. Apparently, it is being interpreted that way by others, as well. https://www.spotlightpa.org/news/2022/05/pa-primary-2022-postcard-social-pressure-campaign/
ETA: Mine go out tomorrow ( with one of two less creepy messages).

(1,221 posts)I felt it had the potential to increase voter turnout beyond those who received postcards. I agree the one about our voting record is more creepy than helpful. I mailed my 200+ to Ohioans last Tuesday.
I received a postcard postmarked from Boston MA asking me to vote for Senator Sherrod Brown. That one pleasantly threw me for a loop as I hadnt heard of anyone writing postcards for down ballot races and Ds have some vulnerable Senate races to defend this election cycle and need all the help they can get. Although I didnt need the reminder to vote for Sherrod Brown, hopefully it reached some who did need it.

(13,982 posts)Here in Trumbull county I will not waste my time sitting there writing postcards out for fake Democrats. We got a big problem here.

(439 posts)I was super pleased that I'm writing from Maine to get out the vote for Senator Sherrod Brown from Ohio, one of my most favorite senators of all time. I went to Westen College in Oxford, Ohio, then married and lived for fifteen years in North Olmstead and Lyndhurst while teaching school.
