(28,836 posts)If The Atlantic (or whoever) just repackaged it with some new info so that it could be released now, that was a pretty damn brilliant move. Seems that nearly everyone forgot the 2022 story anyway, so it looks like a bombshell now.

(35,075 posts)I'm already kind of annoyed though because CNN is feeding into the nonsense IMO. The bottom line is that we need someone with character and integrity in the White House. Kamala Harris has those qualities, and trump clearly does not. Nothing that she says tonight will change that.

(141,926 posts)learned about it today; she was mother of 3 boys we shared a 'baby'sitter with, so she (and whole family) was close to my family for many of my daughters' young years; the boys were like brothers to my daughters, and we're all grieving now. ('Kids' adults now, and don't live nearby. Very sad, and thinking of her, our friend, fondly.)

(24,885 posts)I hope her passing was as easy as it could be for all, and her children will have plenty of memories of her.
elleng
(141,926 posts)Her passing was sudden, apparently shortly after surgery while she was recovering, and had been out shopping with one of the boys the day before.
Will learn more, I'm sure, and the boys (and we) have MANY memories. AND just learned, there's a new baby, one of the boys married couple years ago (I attended reception/party,) had a boy baby 2-3 yas ago, and a new little girl now; not many girls in the family, and I'm sure our friend was thrilled about that.)

(141,926 posts)I didn't mention earlier, one of the boys, middle one, wrote:
'There was no task that she did not meet with an all encompassing energy. This can be embodied in nothing better than the way she raised her son Eli. Independent living for her son with intellectual disabilities was not a question but a mission that she marched towards at her own chaotic drumbeat. She and my dad are the architects of this full life Eli lives at his apartment in Rockville. Surrounded by friends, resources, public transportation and most importantly a movie theatre. She was also the hearth that kept the tireless work of his day to day schedule operating at 110%. (Eli has Down Syndrome.)
We will carry this torch of independence and self-advocacy forward for her and my late father because that is what they taught us to do.'
