In a small way, I am at peace with this election.

In a larger way, I'm petrified at the prospect of another Trump term, of course.

But I am in peace in the sense that I know this election is now a test for the American public, and not of our candidate or our party. The public as a whole knows all the deep and serious flaws of Donald Trump. They know about his racism, his sexism, and his anti-LGBT bigotry. They know he sent his followers to attack the Capitol. They know he tried to overturn the last election. They know he's cognitively impaired, that he lies as easily as he breathes. They know that he ended the constitutional right to abortion. If people still vote for him after all that, whether because of it or in spite of it, then that is their responsibility entirely.

Obviously we need to work hard and get out every last vote we can. Our work may yet be the difference between winning and losing. But if the outcome is the wrong one, it won't be the fault of those who tried to stop it. It will be the fault of those who cause it, with eyes wide open.

Worrying for someone who has fought anxiety my whole life just isn't healthy.

What happens, happens... we'll adapt. We'll celebrate or take a deep breath and lawfully resist for 4 years...

That's all.

Either outcome and I've got a lot to say on 11/6 for a better way forward.

And yes it includes suggesting the Democratic Party gets back to it's roots.

I voted blue all over the ballot. I dropped the ballots off at the nearby ballot box receptor. Fortunately, we live in Maryland and don't see what those of you who live in red states observe. Thank goodness for that.

I’m trying to take a Buddhist approach, letting go of expectations. Also I’m remembering the serenity prayer. That said, I’m still optimistic that Harris will win.

We could anticipate the fun of "I told you so" when they all complain about losing their SS and Medicare and healthcare and a relative being sent to a detention camp accidentally but they can't get them out and every TV station only shows Donald 24/7 and gas has doubled in price and they owe $3900 more on their taxes...unfortunately we will be pretty much robbed of being smug since we will be in the same boat. Morons voting against themselves and will be caught unaware when their lord and savior is 25th amendmented and Vance is running the show.

which after Trump gets tens of millions of votes will no longer be the United States. But there will also be millions of the maga cult members across the nation ready to fight a guerrilla war.
And if Trump were to somehow win, will Biden meekly surrender the nation to the fascist Trump? Just when I figured I'd have a nice retirement. I wonder how many of those of us who are Democrats and on the Left who didn't even bother to vote because there always is.
