Donald Trump said Thursday hes open to pardoning Hunter Biden if hes reelected a significant reversal after years of lobbing attacks at the legal issues faced by the presidents son as part of his Biden crime family talking point, Politico reports.
Said Trump: I wouldnt take it off the books See, unlike Joe Biden, despite what theyve done to me, where theyve gone after me so viciously, despite what, and Hunters a bad boy. Theres no question about it. Hes been a bad boy. All you had to do is see the laptop from hell. But I happen to think its very bad for our country.

You do not do something like this less than two weeks prior to an election if you think you're going to win. You do it when you're desperate to make some kind of deal, anything, to get out of prison. It's not going to work, of course, but this is yet another example of why I don't think his internal polling resembles the current gumming-up of polling aggregate sites by MAGA pollsters that are giving many here anxiety.
He. Will. Lose! And he knows it.

(8,697 posts)Why do you think he just pivoted from the "I am your retribution" campaign against the "Biden Crime Family" to "pardon Hunter"?

(2,248 posts)He's not.
I guarantee you Trump does not believe he's going to lose. These little things aren't proof of anything. The dude says a million different things at once ... he literally seems to go with whatever is at the front of his mind the second he's asked a question. There is no thought or strategy behind it.
Trump does not think he will lose this race.

(18,167 posts). . . . but he strongly fears it. And his fear of losing will overwhelm his thinking he's winning.
I am not a psychologist, but I do believe fear of exposure overrides logic in narcissists.

(9,266 posts)What the convicted felon says in hopes to make him win does not mean he will do it after winning (which he won't).
He *would* just ignore what he said to win since he will ignore the constitution and not relinquish power until the happy day (for us) he'll die.
If he *would* win (which he won't) there *would* not be any other campaign since he *would* rule like a fascist dictator and after he's dead, the presidency *would* be handed to his offspring one after the next (like a royal family).
No checks, no balance, and no more Extreme Court, as he *would* just ignore them whatever they'll rule.

Jareds $2 billion from the Saudis was just a purely legit partnership business transaction. No need to go investigate that since I mentioned a week out from the election that I would be open to pardoning Biden son.
Everything is so calculated with this cretin.

(1,742 posts)Trump is guilty of far more serious crimes than Hunter Biden could have dreamed of. Some tax idiocy, filing for a gun permit when he shouldn't have. Anyone else would have been slapped on the wrist and told to behave.
Trump, on the other hand, has committed serious crimes, and been convicted of some of them. He's still not in prison, as far as I know still hasn't paid any fines and damages. Appeal, appeal, appeal. His one goal is to get himself out of even more serious trouble.
Maybe seeing Rudy the Ghoul losing his apartment and other things, with more to come, has shaken Trump up. Maybe he's trying to appeal to Joe Biden to be nice. He's such a loon.

(7,741 posts).... that could grant him a pardon. Biden before Harris is sworn in and Harris after.
I'm no strategist when it comes to national politics, so I'll prove it now by showing you what I and others would love to see. The moment Harris has won the election, Biden should test the power of the immunity that SCOTUS has given the president. As an official act, he should round up all the TSF's henchmen and jail them until TSF admits he lost and surrenders to the legal authorities. That will be sentencing him to prison.
Of course, that won't happen, but watching the insurrectionist one and all squirm would be fun until the legal system works its way.
President Biden would be covered by SCOTUS immunity, and President-Elect Harris would have no official powers until she is sworn in.
Hey a guy can dream!

(402 posts)I'd be surprised if Hunter would take the pardon. I know Hunter didn't swear an oath to his country or anything, but still. Not that it's a real offer. Hunter ought to tell him to f off right now.
