https://press.un.org/en/2024/wom2231.doc.htm"In his opening remarks, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres stressed: Patriarchy is far from vanquished; it is regaining ground. Women and girls are also facing a war on their fundamental rights at home and in their communities. Autocrats and populists are promoting what they call traditional values to attack womens sexual and reproductive rights. We cannot accept a world in which grandmothers fear their granddaughters will enjoy fewer rights than they had, he said, also noting that these power relations are being replicated in digital technologies. When technological systems are designed by men, they result in biased algorithms that ignore womens needs and womens bodies."
This war that Putin and his autocrat friends is waging is not just their war against democracy but also their war against women's rights! It is Putin after all who has pledged to defend and promote "traditional values" worldwide.

(4,201 posts)1. Those "traditional values" being promoted sure look like
the values that are commonly associated with Abrahamic religions. It seems like the sun never sets on patriarchy, the desire to subjugate women, and autocratic governments.

They don't have a concept of: "Mind your own damn business!"
