It was pretty funny actually.

(60,320 posts)Big list of dozens of speakers. Trump takes the stage at 5 pm Eastern, which is 2 pm Pacific, kind of early in the afternoon. Probably he'll be late as other speakers exude extended fawning adulation from every craven orifice.

(7,395 posts)New York umm.... hates him.
He's already LOST more than 3 cases there, and been convicted 34 times of a felony. All in the last 2 years.
They once asked a woman what she thought about Dumpy's saying he was going to "win" New York. This was about 8 years ago.
She burst out laughing.
The liar even told Faux News earlier this year he would "win" that state. This was back during his criminal trial, and he boldy predicted he would win the state.

(9,996 posts)As I said elsewhere, Penn State is a blue oasis in a desert of red. I'm sure he attracted some people from the surrounding areas but I doubt he got many students (especially on a Penn State football weekend - even though the game wasn't till tonight). I did read a local news article where they spoke to a few students who said why the supported Trump. They were just as stupid as any other MAGA cult members. I think Penn State should consider kicking these kids out for being too stupid to graduate from Penn State.

(3,124 posts)The repubs are paying for polls. That way, when kamala wins in a landslide, they can say the election was rigged.

(44,738 posts)IOW, pubs rigged many polls. They are good at such nonsense. But, the good guys are much more prepared for January 6th 2025 than 2021. November 6th will be the slow commencement of trump fatigue. Amongst his supporters.

(5,724 posts)Dan Balz measured feedback from his week/10 days on the road in PA tossed a rock in my stomach. He said he heard more things that should be concerning for Harris than he did for the Menace:
Examples:
- tattoo parlor owner (forget the county) saying he was a life-long dem, thinks the Menace incited an insurrection, but was never a big fan of Harris and doesnt know if hell even vote
- students at State College, members of college dems organizing but very unhappy that Harris hasnt distanced more from Biden on Gaza
- Pittsburgh union workers: a lot for Harris but as you move out less support & more for the Menace (this seems obvious, moving into red country)
- Philly: a lot of concern among those trying to get young black voters out to vote that enthusiasm isnt where it needs to be.
- Bucks County: a lot of enthusiasm for Harris among suburban women & passion against the Menace

standing behind tRump. They were all guys. I noticed they were all guys.and they were scratching their heads, backs and arms. Like they had lice or something. I was fixated on the right of tRump -as I looked at my tablet , who was using the sleeves to wipe his nose. Same guy puts tRump side down holding it at belt level by one hand, and is doing whatever behind the sign. It was gross. And he was right in the front. Did anyone else see this? Between yawning and looking at their phones he said the same lies.

(15,424 posts)I have lots of pictures and videos of people I know who were there, it was completely full while he was talking at the start for sure.
Everyone had to be in by 2, he didn't start until later than babbled for like 3 hours.
And, the response there could not have been a lot of students there is wrong, too, from my outside observation there were a LOT of students that went, and there were people from other countries that went, hoping they can't vote.
I am not posting this to be doom and gloom, it's just not being honest to try to believe he does not have a very large and extremely loyal following.

(9,996 posts)From the Philadelphia Inquirer: The lower level of the Bryce Jordan Center, a 15,000-plus-seat basketball arena, appeared to be mostly full with Trump supporters Saturday, though the top section was closed off and covered with black curtains. And from a Penn State newspaper: Around 2:45 p.m., security stopped letting people into the arena. And people were still allowed in after 2:00
So a large portion of the arena was blocked off to begin with and the portion used was NOT completely full I found a video of his complete speech and it was less than and hour and a half, so no, he didn't babble for 3 hours. (A Penn State paper confirms this: Trump began his speech at the BJC around 5:40 p.m. ...Trump finished his speech at 7 p.m.). And there is video from East Carolina University earlier in the week where there were hundreds and hundreds of students pouring out of the arena about a half hour into his speech. I have a feeling this was similar, people showed up and left after a very short time. In the very short amount of video I could stand to watch , Trump was super low energy and slurring his words. I can't imagine college students sticking around a long time to listen to that. And we know the video posted in the OP was while Trumps was still speaking. The full video is out there to see if anyone wants to torture themselves - this was not an overly enthusiastic crowd. Note the full video is focused on Trump the whole time so you can't see when the crowd was leaving.
Note: there are over 35,000 students at Penn State's main campus, so a couple thousand at a rally is not a lot.
