If a teacher has a misdemeanor on his or her record, they lose their license to teach. So why is a convicted felon STILL allowed to run for the most powerful office on the planet? How can even the most rabid Republican condone allowing a convicted felon to run for ANY office, never mind the presidency?
They screech about FREEDOM, then turn around and pass the most invasive, restrictive, and draconian laws in living memory.
And then theres what those motherfuckers want to do to women. If the gibbering MAGA imbeciles of the female persuasion took the time to read even the Cliff Notes version of Project 2025, they would castrate every male Republican that Satan ever defecated, starting with anyone and everyone connected with the Heritage Foundation. Those traitors are seriously sick fucks. This one proposal alone should wake those women the fuck up: If Trump is elected, they will rescind the 19th Amendment. Every woman knows or SHOULD know that the 19th Amendment gave women the right to vote. And it goes downhill from there. A womans right to have her own bank account, credit cards, or to own property, will also be on the Project 2025 chopping block.
Theyre attacking womens rights because they know that their brain-dead base of ignorant men will go along with anything intended to keep uppity wimmin in their place the kitchen, or in bed. In short, women are an easy target. But the aforementioned base is too dirt stupid to foresee that THEY WILL BE NEXT.

(22,737 posts)Simple synopsis but there's a great depth of evidence behind it.
Since 2016, I've come to the conclusion that there are some galactically fucked up people in this country who don't deserve suffrage. They simply can't handle the responsibility. They do not possess the civic virtue the founders thought essential for our experiment to work. Possibly our founder's greatest fear was the masses following after some demagogue. And here we are.

(24,763 posts)Constitution excluding him, but they refused to rule for the constitution and instead voted that changing ballots to protect the constitution would just be confusing to everyone. So that exclusion is still sitting there in the constitution as an unconstitutional candidate defies it.

(4,736 posts)Is it in an obscure amendment? I haven't had time yet to do a deep dive to ferret it out.

(4,736 posts)... now I remember. The corrupt conservatives (is there any other kind?) on the SCOTUS hamstrung any prosecution of Trump for inciting the J6 insurrection. Although, as I recall, it doesn't require a conviction to invoke the 3rd part of the 14th. I'll have to re-read it before making a judgement, which will be meaningless, except to me and Smokey, the more liberal of our two cats.
