Over six months ago I declared that tgf would not return to the White House. I stated that I believe in the American people. I believe that they have more in common than what divides them and I believe they know this.
A tiny bit about me: I lived in Atlanta, Georgia for five years as a Canadian business owner on a Visa. I, as an entrepreneur, worked with people from all different backgrounds in one of the busiest cities with an incredibly diverse population in the south.
Ive travelled to many states and I believe this to be true, generally speaking, most Americans are not willing to give up the American experiment.
I dont know how this election is gonna go some days Im very nervous but other days I go back to that original thought, I believe in the American people and no matter what happens I always will.
May God bless and keep each and everyone of you and may God be with us all.

(82,184 posts)but faith is believing in something that you cant necessarily see. Its a feeling that comes from a belief that people are generally good and dont hate, and that there are those that are taught to hate. I truly believe there is more love in America than there is hate. I also believe theres more joy in our future than fear.

(341 posts)So much of what we hear (on all media) is the bad stuff. Trump's endless lies. The rantings of his sycophantic, brain-dead followers. The up-and-down, always neck-and-neck polling. Etc. etc. etc. It's all designed to keep us frightened...and hooked. It's an addiction from which I constantly have to pry myself away.
The truth, I feel, is much more comforting. Practically all the people I meet are decent, kind, and good. I have been in several large crowds this past year--at diverse, non-political events--where a comment is made about Kamala and the place erupts in joyous cheers, and a comment about Trump is meet with stunned silence or boos.
We'll all know for sure on November 5. But to me this is all about the optics. Forget the polls. Look at the crowds, the joy, the support of countless celebrities, the overall national mood. It's been incredible. Unless I'm totally off base, we have this one in the bag.

(201 posts)when it came to him and the media until all the right wing, billionaires started buying all the mainstream media and then a dreadfully in adequate Bruce Wayne wanna be buying x solidifying the social medias onslaught of the hunger games type propaganda and magas favorite wet dream scenario. But, I believe most Americans will reject this. Remember what MLK era civilians were up against, and they prevailed. There are no jack boot Nazi wannabees with badges that are going to be able to sick dogs on people and beat them to prevent them from voting. Americans need to remember this. No one is blocking them from voting , if they want change, every American eligible to vote must vote, no one but themselves can stop their vote. This election, I do believe that the American people understand this.

(57,488 posts)with a terrible mind-eating disease, called MAGA. They have lost their empathy and common sense. They have assumed the mantle of hate towards others.
Pray they recover. I'm doubtful they will.

May God bless and keep you too.
May all of us put our fears away and embrace the possibilities of our future together by electing Kamala Harris our next president and Tim Walz our vice president.
Thank you, too, to Joe Biden for all of the wonderful things he has begun for this magnificent country.

(3,013 posts)MAGAts are not 50% of the country, they're not even 50% of tfg voters. But I've lost the feel I had about Americans. I don't know what they will do anymore.
Maybe a lot can't see the danger or don't think our system of government is as fragile as was shown in the events leading up to 1/6. I hope they see it.

Thanks for your hopeful words. I think real MAGATS are closer to ?25% - 35%.Of these the really violent ones maybe 8%+. Idk.
Not exaactly a small amount but certainly less than 50/50!
Always had positive thoughts about Canada. Visited Expo '67, and Toronto for my dad's friend's wedding in '66.

(3,057 posts)The Civil Rights Movement, the Vietnam War, the push for women's rights, affirmative action, the Reagan years, and on and on.
We have managed to stick to the idea of a democratic republic and the idea of upward mobility even as it seems we have taken very backward steps, during the Reagan years, The G.W. Bush years and now through our current Supreme Court moving us backwards.
I see this election as a test of our commitment as a nation to ideas that have expanded with our increased diversity, even as the rules have been narrowed against that.
This election gives a clear choice. I remain hopeful that our citizens will choose to continue with the idealism of progressive, inclusive and democratic ideals.
