For those who do hear about it, the ones who currently support Trump will write it off as a bad warm up comedian and not a symptom of the deeply racist MAGA world. Might make a few think twice when it comes time to actually vote for the guy, but I think a tiny, but meaningful percent of people who say they are going to vote Trump won't be able to actually do it when it counts for a variety of reasons.

Those who support Harris will take it as affirmation of their choice to say FU to MAGA world.

Those who don't plan to vote will take it as "see how messed up it all is? I'm well out of it."

they're already about 85% for Harris. Half the employees where I work are Puerto Rican, we're just a few blocks north of the historic Puerto Rican neighborhood in Chicago, and it would be difficult to find a Trump voter around here.

They do tend to turn out at higher levels than white voters do, they have a higher percentage of eligible registered voters and their turnout is usually better than 80%.

In a close race this late in the game, all that's needed are nudges in one direction or the other. And every nudge can make a difference. Biden only won 2020 by 44,000 votes across three states. Trump won in 2016 by 80,000 votes.

When it's late October and campaigns are trying to scrape it out, nudges count.

Trump won by 44,000 votes across Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania in 2016. Biden won in 2020 by adding Arizona and Georgia to the blue wall, technically, the closest of the five was Arizona with 11,000 and Georgia with 11,000 but the state that put him over, Wisconsin, he won by 20,000, and he won Michigan by 140,000 and Pennsylvania by 85,000.

Guam and American Samoa with Hawaii. As for the "push", these so-called territories deserve the right to self-determination, as opposed to a legislative decree from Congress and President. One consideration is taxation. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the non-voting U.S. citizens of Puerto Rico pay no federal income tax. That would dovetail with " no taxation without representation". If Puerto Rico was to become a fully-fledged state, would an obligation to pay taxes to the IRS go along with it? This type of consideration is why Puerto Ricans (and citizens of other territories) need to weigh in for themselves, before Congress decides to take up the issue.
