(47,385 posts)OH doesn't make it easy to vote early (in person) for those who live in large counties, since OH only allows one early voting location per county. So will vote on election day.

Most important race: US Sen. Tester/sheehy; props 126,127,128; Gov.
Hard to say what the outcome will be, I'm expecting Tester to win, the others might surprise us... depends on how fed up the voters are here.

POTUS prediction: uncertain. Cautiously optimistic but no clue.

(60,050 posts)This year was no different.
It arrived almost a month ago. I filled it out, and sent it back.
My prediction for the presidential election: Harris wins the vote. Who takes the White House? That will depend on the counting in the swing states--interference, fraud, criminal barring of legitimate voters, discarding of legitimate votes, etc. The Republicans are not idiots. They know that in a legitimate election, they lose. They are not laying back and letting it happen without a fight. If we don't fight back, they will take it from us and laugh all the way to the Oval Office.

(6,986 posts)Voted early on Saturday. There's no longer a "straight ticket" option, so I had to hit all the boxes. In my state representative district, there was no Democrat running, so I didn't vote for the Republican, and made a note of that. I may file to run against him next time around.
No long lines, there were 15 machines in the room at the early voting location, but Cook County has 50 early voting locations and they are also open on election day, in case the lines get long.

You're supposed to have a little inconvenience and work for your vote.
Abolishinist
(2,940 posts)about a mile away from our house. Just as you, it was a ritual. So easy, drive over, park in front of a house, drop off the ballot, then get a "I Voted" sticker and place it on our bird's cage.
Except that last week a woman knocked on our door, a Dem get-out-the-vote person. We had a good conversation and I then said that I loved dropping off my ballot over on X Street. She then said "that's my house!", but they've decided that this year they're not going to need her services. So instead I'll be dropping off at the box at our local election center.
Damn it!
