Jon Stewart has admitted he finds Tony Hinchcliffe “very funny” following the comedian’s widely criticized remarks at Donald Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally.

On Monday (October 28), the Daily Show host dedicated his opening monologue to discussing the Republican presidential nominee’s rally in New York City on Sunday evening, which has since been condemned by celebrities and politicians alike for the many racist and vulgar remarks made by speakers at the event

Among the speakers at the rally, which included Tucker Carlson and David Rem, Hinchcliffe perhaps received the biggest pushback after calling Puerto Rico “a floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean,” as well as other offensive comments aimed at Jewish and Black Americans.

Jon also seems to be turning into a human contortionist before our very eyes as he attempts to 'both sides' any and everything. That show is borderline unwatchable these days.

It's a subtle distinction but the people jumping to shit on Stewart are too quick to judge a comedian on a comedy show who was making a bigger point. The point was this: the Trump people should have known he'd be outrageous.

It reminds me about hearing the comedian's original material had him calling Harris "the 'c' word" in his routine, but campaign organizers made them strike that one from the teleprompter. They thought it went too far. The damning part that isn't stated is that they were OK with the bits that caused the uproar.

It might have been Jon's first show when it came back, I can't remember, but I'll never forget Jon Stewart talking about Biden and Trump as both being "old guys" and that America will be "just fine" no matter who ended up as President. He basically mocked everyone who was worried and was acting if everyone was behaving hysterically. Talk about privilege!

Jon Stewart got a lot of blowback from that first episode and I knew his second episode would be dedicated to him b*tching about those who criticized him. Sure enough, that's all that he did. He never acknowledged he might have very well have been out of touch due to his insulation from so many issues people are terrified about.

(NOTE: I didn't watch the episode that this post is about, but I did read it was taken out of context. My reply is that I just don't find Jon Stewart funny anymore, outside of anything he might have said recently)

He liked the routine that presented stereotypes as valid and the material that brought up the old wounds of slavery, in my view, in order to use that past circumstance to throw shade. The 3rd joke about "bruises"? went over my head, but I intuitively believe it was the worst.
