If you're going to vote for Jill Stein in protest of the atrocities in Gaza and hand the election over to Trump who will no doubt make things 10 times worse, I don't even know what to say to you.

Harris has gone all in on the youth vote. They are full of shit.

(98,883 posts)General election.
The media and the pollsters like to use 2016 and 2020 as their justifications for adding weighting factors to what they view as under represented republican support, conveniently ignoring the Comey effect and the pandemic.
They completely ignore the red wave that was predicted in 2022 that failed to materialize, which might be because Democrats and women of all stripes might have been under represented, and night also be represented in this election.

(1,617 posts)Yeah it sucks to see that low single digit block of voters who should be voting for Harris and all she can do for Palestine--if they just had a bit more sense/education/wisdom.
But the fact is this voting bloc gets a bit of a high from "being different" and "going against the grain". It's part of their identity. We waste so much energy on them that would better spent courting low-resistance independents and undecided voters.
Pursue the people who have shown an interest in being pursued, rather than those who demand a platform shift that would render Harris unelectable.

(31 posts)In the end, with all the angst Ive experienced over this election, I have to remind myself to have faith in Professor Alan Lichtman. They say hes called nine of the last ten presidential elections correctly. I think hes predicted all of them correctly. They say he missed 2000 in predicting Gore. However, Gore did not only win the popular vote but rightfully, the electoral college as well. Little Bush had the election handed to him by five Republican Justices on the Supreme Court. I watched the professor being interviewed a couple of nights ago. He flat out said that the polls in this election year are wrong and Harris will win. He reminded us of how wrong the polls were in 2022. His successful track record comforts me and reenforces my belief that we will win this.

(9,996 posts)Will Stein get a few protest votes? Sure. Will it be enough to impact the election? No way. She is polling at 1% or less in almost every poll. At most it's 2% and she will never reach that. She has an extremely tiny but devoted following. The vast majority of people who vote for her were never going to vote for Harris (or Trump) - some will use the Gaza situation as an excuse, but if it wasn't that, they'd have another excuse. She's not even on the ballot in at least 14 states. The one state where she theoretically could have an impact is Michigan with the its muslim population. But the state polls for Michigan show Harris actually starting to pull away in Michigan. Any votes Stein gets will not be enough to cause problems

(20,384 posts)Hes a Republican who voted for The Felon the first time and not in 20. So far so good. He then tells me he didnt vote for Harris either because he couldnt take her cackling laugh for the next for years. I said that was a pretty moronic reason, but who then did he vote for?, surely not Stein? He said that as a matter of fact he did vote for her. At that point I just said you might as well have voted for the MAGAt because thats all your vote for Stein achieved and walked away. Im hoping he was just trying to get a rise our of me and actually did vote for Harris, but who knows, its the craziest election Ive ever witnessed.

(14,914 posts)A new report from the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) shows that Jill Stein, the Lexington, Massachusetts, resident and Green Party candidate for president, is leading Democratic nominee Kamala Harris among Muslim voters in several key swing states.
In Michigan, 40% of Muslim voters said they plan to vote for Stein, compared to just 12% who said they plan to vote for Harris. Stein also received significant support from Muslim voters in Wisconsin, where 44% said they plan to vote for her compared to 39% who said theyll back Harris. And in Arizona, Stein draws support from 35% of Muslim voters, compared to 29% for Harris.
According to the website World Population Review, Michigan has a Muslim population of more than 241,000, meaning that Steins substantial lead there if it holds could have a decisive impact on who ultimately wins that state. The website FiveThirtyEight currently shows Harris leading Republican nominee Donald Trump in Michigan by 1.9%

I know a few).
There's also what I'd call the Q-Right - the far left wing people that have gone so far around the bend that they've circled around and become arch-conservatives. Most of those are now deep in QAnon.

(7,046 posts)And so you will vote for Stein, who will do less than zero for you and other Arabs, and if she succeeds in helping Trump win, you will have helped elect a candidate who will kill far more Arabs than are being killed now, and any hope for an independent, self-determined Palestinian state will be gone.
That's what your vote for Stein will do. So you don't really care for the Arabs in Gaza at all.
