Polling is sketchy and all over the place. We don't have good data on how early voters are voting, and the media is firing in every direction without aiming at all.
So, what are we supposed to do?
The answer is as simple as it always is. The last day of voting is next Tuesday. Those who choose to vote, as I do, on Election day, will do their thing, and counting will begin in the evening. After a couple of hours, we'll begin to see results coming in. Over the ensuing 48 hours, we'll know what the result is.
There are two choices, at this point. One is to watch the results and react accordingly.
The other is to fret and pace the floor endlessly.
You decide which way you will go. Me? I'll be watching results. Being panicky isn't my thing.

(7,964 posts)The start of the pandemic. Now that I've retired (a bit early), I need to watch every penny and I'm too cheap to buy it.
Best of luck to you though!

(151,539 posts)things to change people's minds. That time has come and gone, though, now. Both candidates have made their final big appearances, for better or worse. they know that the everyone's mind is made up, about everything, now.
So, now, we wait, once we vote as individuals, anyhow. I vote on election day, out of habit, and also because I'm done at the same time voting ends. Then, I watch to see how the results turn out. Sometimes, I'm glad. Sometimes, I'm not. And so it has been since the first election I voted in in 1966.
Now, at age 79, I'm coming up on my last election soon enough. Same story, though.
Vote, and then watch the results come in. Then, adapt to those results. So it goes.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
