with some sensibility.
She called it " apostrophegate". - She had reporters at both campaigns. First one at Harris/Walz - who explicitly clarified what Biden said and provided the context that clearly shows Biden was referring to the the comedian.
The reporter reporting from trump location said that that the trump campaign said they will blot out the sun with Biden's comment, every day until election. They see it as a good thing for the campaign. Katy then said, that it's not getting the same response as the original comments. People are not as outraged. Then she continued to talk about continued outrage in PA and Nicky Jam's unendorsement.
Everyone else I've seen thus far, talked about how much of a problem this would be for Kamala.

(2,097 posts)I'm repeating myself with other comments I've made on this, but I'm not seeing the outrage response that I was worried I might see. I knew the media would cover Biden's comments over everything else--and they didn't "disappoint"-- but it doesn't seem to be getting much traction.
I think people are a) outrage fatigued; b) have seen far viler comments from Trump about Democrats and at literally every rally or press conference; and c) realize Kamala is running for President and not Biden.
Biden has, wisely, kept his distance from Kamala during the campaign to not overshadow her. He is being supportive, of course, but is making sure she gets to run her own campaign and show she has what it takes to stand on her own. Because of that distance, I think Biden's remarks aren't being as closely associated with Kamala as Trump's campaign had hoped.
