In many speeches I hear people talking about what trump is going to do if he wins. This is a mistake. We need to talk about what we are going to do and stop putting the idea of trump in the white house in peoples minds at all.

(3,396 posts)Our surrogates keep talking about what Trump is going ti do. Not what he will do. Phrasing and messaging are subtle, and this is terrible prashing.
Yes we need to talk about what we will do but need ti stop talking about what he is going to do.

(107,962 posts)I am sick of it. I want to see what Kamala plans to do, not Trump saying or doing something stupid and his stupid cult fawning over him.

(107,962 posts)No, I don't give a flying fuck what Trump would have / could have / should have done. He had the chance, he didn't do any of those things! Fucking stop it already! And he's not the president.

(28,836 posts)Contrasting our candidate with the other guy is part of the equation in every election, especially when it's someone as abhorrent as Trump.
Harris has always done both. Contrast with what Trump would do and expound on what she would do.

(3,396 posts)As in her surrogates.

(28,836 posts)The message of surrogates is the message of the campaign.
If you're talking solely about DU, then I'd agree with you to some degree. We hyper-obsess about Trump to our detriment, and I think we'd be better served by discussing topics like how to volunteer to drive people to the polls and so on.
But that's not who (the royal) we are. Obsessing is kind of in our nature.
That being said, what we say here ultimately matters little. DU is a niche website and our influence is limited. What we do outside of DU is more likely to have an impact.

Have a nice day.

(931 posts)Once you stop talking about yourself and start talking about the other person, I figure you have so little to offer you got nothing left. Tell me about YOU. Otherwise I keep looking.

(93,722 posts)...do you know how detached this sounds from what we've been hearing from the actual campaign and supporters?
You look to have taken what sounds like a snippet out of what have been very comprehensive appeals from all quarters.
It's just a myopic mischaracterization of the campaign and the people supporting VP Harris.
In this complaint, YOU have ignored the 'narrative' that I've been hearing, and is clearly been expressed by the candidate.
How about posting that, instead?

(3,396 posts)I feel differently.
I keep hearing what Trump IS going to do.
In peoples minds that puts inti their psyche that he IS going to win. That tempers enthusiasm.
I have seen this show before. We need to stop phrasing that supports the idea that he IS going to win.

(73,419 posts)like the majority of the posts here beefing about the campaign, i believe u r conflating the 2.
she spends plenty of time talking not just about what she is gonna do, but what she and joe have done together.
but the press is ALWAYS baiting her about sick fuck, demanding that she respond. and always framing things in ways to make it look like a bigger fight than it is. gotta keep it a horserace.
hes going down. HARD.
