Are others experiencing unusual response times from DU? It started here in northern Wisconsin about one hour ago.

Using a network Speedtest APP, it seems to show the slowdown is at DU.

Gmail, Ground News, and The Guardian all seem to be okay.

JUST a HEADS-UP is this attempt to slow down Democratic Underground purposely days away from the election.

I hope not.

From google- The 504 (Gateway Timeout) status code indicates that the server, while acting as a gateway or proxy, did not receive a timely response from an upstream server it needed to access in order to complete the request. The error may be a temporary occurrence due to too much traffic toward the server or site.

I'm in South Carolina. I get them occasionally, and I suspect that it's a software glitch, rather than something that's nefarious. I have been experiencing sluggishness over the past few days, in general, not just with DU. Not sure how much of that is hanky-panky, and how much of it is old equipment fighting with software updates.

My browser hates the fact that DU does not support https. I get constant warnings, pages load slowly, or not at all.

At 9PM ET on Monday, March 25, we began a major required software update. (This was a behind-the-scenes update which does not affect the DU user interface.) The update has been completed, but we are now performing optimizations which could not be dealt with in a test environment.
