But is it due to them finally catching on to Trump's game, or them finally confirming that there's no way Trump can win?

It’s a strong case to vote against Trump, not for Harris. This really jumps out at the last word, where they encourage readers to vote but neglect to mention Harris or the Democratic Party by name.

Edited to add: I’ll take it, though, given lack of any statement from WaPo.

I’d prefer one stating why Harris is an excellent choice, but second best is one like this.

Rachel Bitecofer (“The Election Whisperer”) has written and spoken extensively about the force of negative partisanship, and this does play into that.

BTW on the actual link each underlined text is a link to another article substantiating the claim.

Thank you NYT.

It’s just a different flavour of chickenshit cowardice compared to WaPo and LAT.

Until they piss me off again. I dropped them a few years ago when they brought Bret Stephens on and his first column was pure horseshit climate change denialism. Like defending Big Tobacco years ago level bullshit. I made sure to tell them WHY I was dropping them like a turd I didn't need to stand around holding like a dope.

I instead gave my subscription money to WaPo. Kept it until they started hounding Biden to drop out, and then I dropped them like a turd. "Where did this fucking turd come from, and why am I standing here holding it like a dope?!" I thought, and so I said in my reason for dropping my subscription -- though not in those words, heheh.

Last time I rewarded WaPo for being the lesser evil. Perhaps its time I did the same again.

The stick ain't enough. These greedy MFers need carrots, too.

Back in the early days of the Internet, we used to make fun of Disney's Snow White, that the Evil Queen had hyperlinks she could click on in her spell book!

Part of me doesn’t like even having to USE the word “right”, at least without qualification so there’s no question about context. Just call me “center left,” and most of the time you don’t have to bother using the “center” part of that label.

On second thought, never mind. Labeling me a “lefty” is accurate enough.
