Democrats must find a way to get the word out about what their priorities are, what they accomplish, and how bad Republicans are.
I think the mistake of the Biden years was to assume that good policy would be just taken at face value... especially with a hostile media.
This is going to have to be a constant drumbeat and not confined to the lead up to elections.
How do we do this in the face of Elon's Twitter, the Bezos Post and Fox News (and so much more) ?

(17,081 posts)About Biden's successes? I already acknowledged the hostile media... how do we counter that?

(22,456 posts)What the Left has to do now is tear down those on the right that are lying, cheating, and convincing the vulnerable to vote against their own well-being.
Enough pretending WE are somehow to blame. WE are not to blame.
Let's end the republican party once and for all and start making some progress on the promise that the United State holds.

(17,081 posts)How can we look at the successes of the Biden adminstration and then his unpopularity and come to any other conclusion?
We have a hostile press and no equivalent on our side. How do we counteract that?
Stop trying to simplify what I'm saying as a criticism of Democrats.
Think. Again.
(22,456 posts)We just need to get a helluvalot more serious about wiping out rightwingers.

(5,929 posts)It boils down to this:
One party offers a future as a diverse multicultural society that is a collaborative partner with the world, with a government that is active and engaged in supporting the lifestyles of its citizens.
One party offers a nationalistic pseudo-christian monoculture, with an aloof government that that does little for the well-being of its citizens.
Simply put, an alarmingly large slice of this country doesn't want the future we are trying to build.

(17,081 posts)That agree with most of our policy positions and yet continue to elect the opposite in representation.
Case in point: reproductive rights.
That's not a rejection of what we represent. It's a disconnect in tying what we believe to our representatives.

(17,081 posts)By 60 plus margins in red states and yet their voters keep electing anti choice politicians there is a disconnect that has to be figured out.
Think. Again.
(22,456 posts)...it's "those on the right that are lying, cheating, and convincing the vulnerable to vote against their own well-being" that we need to eliminate.

(17,081 posts)that is what I'm trying to say here!!!
We have an administration that came closer to younger people's priorities than I've ever seen yet they hated him. The message is not getting out!!!
I'm not blaming Democrats... I'm saying we have to figure out how to do it with the headwinds we face...
Because we're not getting any assistance from the media
JFC...
Think. Again.
(22,456 posts)....pretending we're not good enough at fighting against the headwinds they create for us.
Listen, just go batshit crazy on beating the rightwing down at any chance you get and just keep at it.

(18,613 posts)We've been drifting to the right for a decade and attracting neocons...
I'm old enough to remember when Democrats were pro (all of the) civil rights, anti-war and distrustful of the Justice system...
We now have more billionaire donors than the GOP, we're bleeding blue collar support and spitting on Clinton's legacy.... we're now $36T in debt and spend more money on servicing that debt than the military which is a bloated pig.

(17,081 posts)The Biden adminstration has been more progressive than any adminstration in my lifetime. And yet so called progressives punished him for it because reasons.
That's not a policy problem. It's a problem of our messaging on behalf of our accomplishment and priorities not breaking through.

(17,081 posts)Actually listening to, working with, and adopting progressive priorities.
And yet here you are acting as if the trajectory hadn't started to change and throwing out the same decades-long criticisms that were being addressed.
How do progressives expect to have their priorities taken seriously when many of them are adopted and yet they act as if nothing at all changed?

(17,081 posts)To argue generalities that fly in the face of what the Biden adminstration accomplished and tried to accomplish.
Quite frankly you are a perfect example of how we need to figure out better ways to get the truth out about what we do and believe.
