According to news station WHIO, John Rodgers, a Clark County Sheriffs Office Lieutenant for more than 20 years, made several Facebook posts that brought a lot of scrutiny to himself and the Clark County Sheriffs Office.
It is reported that some of the posts, which have been shared more than 250,000, suggested that Rodgers would factor in a callers voting preference when responding to emergency calls.
According to the news source, some of the posts stated, I am sorry. If you support the Democratic Party, I will not help you and The problem is that I know which of you supports the Democratic Party, and I will not help you survive the end of days.
In another post, according to WHIO, Rodgers wrote that people would need to provide proof of who you voted for before rendering aid.

(22,612 posts)When someone is "under the influence" of alcohol or some other mind-altering substance, they lose their filter. They don't exchange their values for a completely different set. I can't help but believe that those posts were a true reflection of Rodgers' values, regardless of any drug(s) he was taking at the time.
Good luck with that "regaining trust" thing, Chief Deputy Young. I don't think I would ever be able to trust that douchenozzle to help me if I were in a position to need his assistance, and right now, I'm side eyeing the whole danged Clark County Sheriffs Office HARD.

His Main Problem Was Not Being in a Relationship With God: Perceptions of Depression, Help-Seeking, and Treatment in Evangelical Christianity
https://www.frontiersin.org/journals/psychology/articles/10.3389/fpsyg.2022.831534/full?origin=serp_auto
Some Christian communities may understand mental illness as the result of spiritual causes, such as sin, demons, or a lack of faith. Such perceptions are likely to influence how Christian individuals conceptualise and experience their mental health and enact help-seeking behaviours. This study explores perceptions of depression and mental health help-seeking in evangelical Christianity by using a novel qualitative story completion task. A convenience sample of 110 Christian participants from the United Kingdom completed a third-person, fictional story stem featuring a male with depression who entered his local church. A contextualist-informed thematic analysis illustrated how the disclosure of depression was represented as eliciting negative social reactions, potentially rendering individuals with depression as socially dislocated. Stories suggested that, increasingly, evangelical Christians may perceive a spiritualisation of mental illness, which negates reference to psychological, social, and biomedical representations, as unhelpful. Findings reveal the risks of a solely spiritual aetiology of depression and highlight how existing mental ill-health can be exacerbated if fundamentalist beliefs and approaches to therapeutic care are prioritised over holistic models of care. Methodologically, this study demonstrates the value of a rarely-used tool in psychologythe story completion taskfor examining socio-cultural discourses and dominant meanings surrounding stigmatised topics or populations. Diversity Within the Psychotic Continuum
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC5216862/?origin=serp_auto
Abstract
There has been great interest in the hallucination-like events experienced by the general nonclinical population. Many psychiatric scientists have come to identify these as part of a psychotic continuum and have begun to ask what we might learn from these experiences that will enable us to better understand and treat psychosis. While sympathetic to this goal, this paper argues that many of these events in the nonclinical population may be associated with the attention to inner imagery characteristic of much religious practice like unscripted prayer. Many of these hallucination-like events are phenomenologically distinct, culturally salient, and are predicted both by a measure of absorption, which probes for an interest in inner imagery, and by inner sense cultivation practice. These observations suggest that rare, brief, and positive sensory events may not be associated with psychotic vulnerability. They also suggest there may be an absorption-dissociation pathway, with or without trauma, for more frequent hallucinations.
Key words: hallucinations, religion, schizophrenia, absorption, dissociation

Abstract
The relationship between religious conversion, as a form of spiritual emergency, and psychosis is one of the fundamental issues at the meeting point of theology and clinical psychology. In the present study, we assessed 53 individuals referred to a psychiatry center with the initial diagnosis of a psychotic episode by focusing on the clinical diagnosis (psychosis vs. spiritual emergency), subjective experiences (basic symptoms), and neuropsychological functions. Twenty-nine individuals meet the diagnosis of schizophrenia-spectrum disorders, but 24 persons experienced only religious and spiritual problems (religious conversion). Both groups reported similar levels of perplexity (e.g., ambivalence, inability to discriminate between own feelings, and hyperreflectivity) and self-disorder (e.g., depersonalization, impression of a change in ones mirror image, and experience of discontinuity in own action). Diminished affectivity, disturbed contact, and perceptual/cognitive disorders were pronounced in psychosis, whereas anxiety and depressive symptoms were more severe in people with spiritual and religious problems. These results indicate that perplexity, self-disorder, and emotional turmoil are common features of turbulent religious conversion and psychosis, but a broader emergence of anomalous subjective experiences and cognitive deficits are detectable only in psychosis. (14,272 posts)It is also suggested that a possible medical issue is involved in Rodgers actions.
WHIO obtained an investigative file and discovered in an inter-office communication with supervisors that Rodgers wrote, I do not remember writing these posts or deleting any posts.
The file also indicates that Rodgers is prescribed sleeping medication, which Rodgers documented, It does cause some of my communication to be out of character which is a documented side effect.
