And it can never get fixed because we're never gonna get the right people in because of what they do with the elections."
Cheato just now at his rally as covered by Aaron Rupar. How's that for a closing message?

(43,314 posts)our country. It's going bad...because of what they do with the elections. We're going to get a bunch of crooks and horrible people."
None of this is admitting defeat. It's telling the crowd that the elections are corrupt. No matter what he tells them, he's setting them up to believe him when he claims his win Tuesday or Wednesday.

(77,030 posts)You are, of course, correct about context.
But, I read it in a bit more defeatist way than you.
He appears to be setting up a loss as the result of cheating against him.
He wouldn't go down this path if he thought he was going to win.
So, I'm seeing more admission of defeat than you do

(43,314 posts)I think he's a Cohen man to the end, and will go down fighting his usual fight. He could never die admitting he's a loser.
Even when he's sentenced in Manhattan, he'll stick to his narrative about being a political prisoner, like his "hostage" followers.

(246 posts)No way to run an campaign to attract anyone beyond MAGA cultists.
He has consistently ignored most/all guidance from his "advisers".
He deserves a staggering electoral loss a-la Dukakis, but we all know the cult is too big.
How to deal with that is a massive challenge.

(8,344 posts)And Carter and his people knew it was over as of that Sunday. They were cautiously optmistic until the closing week, and then the final weekend were sure they'd been wiped out. Maybe we're seeing something similar here? I dunno seems like it would have showed up in some manner in the latest polling but with the exception of that Iowa poll (which would be consistent with a late collapse), the polls seem like they're still deadlocked.

(5,788 posts)is happening in red states, besides Iowa - that Kamala is down by less in Kansas, up 12 in Nebraska 2, down by less in Ohio.
I see it as a positive omen for battlegrounds.

(3,605 posts)that gets overlooked is that John Anderson ran a strong 3rd party campaign where at one point he was polling in the low 20s. Although he only got about 7% of the vote, nearly all those wouldve gone to Carter.
Another thing that skewed the Presidential vote totals was that states were often called by the networks hours before polls closed in those states. Carter Reagan was called if my memory serves about 8pm on election night. Once it was called, many Carter voters went home without voting when they heard the news. That was the point where networks decided not to call a state until the polls were closed in that state.
Prairie Gates
(8,344 posts)The analogy was really on whether there is a sudden collapse in the polls. That narrative came largely from Carter's pollster, Pat Caddell.

(19,045 posts)Maybe he could bring a variety of barnyard beasts on stage at his Nazi Rallies and take his shirt off and hump the animals right infront of his MAGA goons.
The crowd would tear the roof off the place clapping and hollering while enjoying the show. The media could broadcast it coast to coast.
Vance could come up on stage and beat the animals with a leather whip while trDUMPee has sex with them.
That would be a nice closing finale for trDUMPee/Vance Campaign 2024.
Xavier Breath
(6,665 posts)magicarpet
(19,045 posts)While trDUMP is humping the animals he could have a baseball cap on his head with the words,...
"THE FAMILY VALUES PRESIDENT".
Then he could shit himself just before he exited the stage.

When people here say it would be a dream if Florida wins, I immediately don't trust the state at all election wise because of who runs the state.

(1,250 posts)You can count of the Turd making those claims. The election was "rigged" against him; and, he was "stabbed in the back" by disloyal people and Trump haters who hate him just like all those Judges, prosecutors and juries coupled with all those "radical leftists" Democrats, communists, socialists, and, non-Aryans all of which who "hate" America and want to see America go further down the "shithole" into the "garbage can" which only MAGA can make great again.

(7 posts)The early voting is probably skewing so heavily Harris/Walz that F45 knows he can't make it up if people vote according to trends on Election Day.
Many don't trust the mail-in boxes because of some reports of arson, others are determined to vote in person and didn't want to wait until the day of in case some shenanigans went down on 11/5. He sees the handwriting and it ain't his. I guess his team had to break it to him before the delusional ketchup bottles started flying...
We democracy-loving stragglers still have to vote though! Harris wins according to trends but they can change with less turn out. If we turn out, we win. No going back.
