Harris campaign moves Pittsburgh rally to Rankin after original spot deemed 'unsafe' by Secret Service

Harris' rally, according to the "Vote for Freedom Rally" website, said she will now make remarks at Carrie Blast Furnaces in Rankin.

Harris, according to the rally website, will be joined by special musical guests Katy Perry, Andra Day, DJ Arie Cole, and D-Nice.

Harris' rally originally was to take place at Point State Park Monday at 3 p.m. Pittsburgh Action News 4 was on the scene as crews worked to take down the preset stage Sunday night where the vice president was to address voters the following day.

The reason for the move comes after Secret Service visited and declared the site to be unsafe, giving the campaign just hours' notice to change locations.

I lived 35 miles north of there for 8 years, and visited Point State Park many times. There's an awful lot of riverbank that would have to be covered, and river traffic. Bridges are close, the interstate bridge actually overlooks the park.
