9. There is a continual, year-round movement of Puerto Ricans

who are residents of a state on the mainland, between the island and the states where they live. There are literally commuter flights to San Juan set up for that and they are usually going to visit/stay with relatives.

They also have their own election going on too right now, but this is sending a message to the mainland residents to make sure to handle the "diss" (disrespect) of their culture by voting for Harris.

Just like any other resident living out of the country.

There are a lot of reasons people maintain stateside addresses. No idea of numbers though.

Puerto rico is not a state and its citizens can not vote for national office, nor do they have representation in the house or senate (they do have a nonvoting rep in the house. More of an observer than a rep).

They are cirizens however, so if they establish residence in a us state, they have the right to vote in that state just like any other citizen resident.

There are 1.2 million PR citizens resident in FL alone. There are i think closer to 3 million in ny.

For Puerto Rico to become a state, a second territory would like have to be admitted. This would be to keep the number of senators at an even number. Or, another choice would be to remove one of the existing states to keep the balance. In this scenario, Mississippi comes to mind as a good choice.

As has already been pointed out, you were speaking from19th century rules. There is no requirement for an even number of states admitted to the Union.

But, since every state gets 2 Senators, the total number of Senators will always be an even number.

46. Most states have strict residency criteria for voting purposes.

That would be illegal. But if someone could somehow provide legal residency, for free, to pr citizens, then sure.

But they would have to meet all of the residency requirements, which usually include being physically present in the state for a set smount of time first. Once you establish residency, all you would probably need is a mailing address, but im not an attorney and this isnt legal advice.
