If I hear that Lee Greenwood song one more time . . .

I'll be forced to re-write the chorus:

And I'm proud to be an American,
Where it's Buy One, Get One Free,
And it's Equal Justice Under Law
(for folks that look like me),
And I'll proudly stand here safe at home
While you serve her far away,
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land,
God save the NRA!

"22 studio albums, eight compilation albums, 40 singles (counting his signature song "God Bless the USA", which was released three times), and five music videos" upon an undeserving public.

But can I name another song? Hell to the No.

12. He can't sing, he just yells and bellows in different pitches! Makes you want to stuff mud into your ears.

4. That song is the biggest crock. I loathe Lee Greenwood. I remember the first time I heard it - in Iowa ...

... at a July 4th fireworks display, people stood for that jingoistic crap and not for the National Anthem.

It was just a beautiful evening, in a nice old picnic/fair grounds. And it was just a nice place to be. We had home fried chicken and potato salad, the kids were having fun. The fireworks were good and then at the finale, they played that stupid song loud enough to drown out the fireworks.

Like someone brought a skunk to tea. Just about ruined the whole experience.
