Mixed signals watching Morning Joe, they are talking like the election is

over and Trump lost. Talking about how bad his campaign has been like he wanted to lose.
Then they say the latest NBC poll has it a dead heat. It is like they know things are much
worse for Trump than their poll says but they have been told to keep the horse race going.

Ann seltzer is being interviewed. They are saying the "tied" polls all adjust the data using models of past elections or assumptions about who will show up.

In contrast, seltzer polls do not and actually capture what will happen. She calls it polling forward. That methodology successfully predicted the 2016 Trump wave that other pollsters missed as well as 2020.

They did that in 1988, I think, and got a lot of grief over it. If the exits show Harris winning, they won't say it straight out, they'll wait till the polls are closed.

...I wouldn't be worried about PA. It may have been closer than it is now, but the remarks about Puerto Rico have submarined the Trump campaign in PA.

And they saying this stuff about "It's tied" almost like it's tongue in cheek. The point is the election isn't over, no one should be taking anything for granted, and we still need to get people to vote.
