Since Dobbs Trump has focused on men, knowing that he needs to offset the women who are motivated by reproductive rights. But this is a very narrow view. Many men are motivated by Dobbs. They are concerned for wives, daughters, granddaughters etc. as well as recognizing what bad policy abortion restrictions are for society, aside from the personal impact. Trump has appeared to realize very late that the focus on men only is backfiring, hence the clumsy attempt to pander to women with the creepy "I will protect women whether they like it or not." Which by the way, pisses off men as well. Who wants their wife, daughter, granddaughter, or sister protected by Trump? No one except perhaps a MAGA cultist and it might even be a stretch for them. Vote!

(15,506 posts)Young male Trump voters who can't be bothered to get up and find a polling place.
Along with women who are lying to their husbands and pollsters and.... and.... Hang on, it'll come to me...
Oh!!! Those people who pay absolutely no attention to politics until a few days before a national election. They don't have social media feeds. They don't watch the news. Around Nov 1 they start to think about who they'll vote for. They see some recent clips of Trump's rallies and say to themselves, "No way!" and vote for Harris/Walz.

And cannon fodder. Poor people often see the military as a way out.
Women bear the brunt of this in their own bodies, but the impacts are very widespread - and deliberate.

No other country does this. Health care, guns, elections: American exceptionalism.
Think of what that money could do...
But what I was thinking of was more like this, the use of the political machine to funnel money into deep pockets.

(20,897 posts)Will find that they too retain FREEDOM and autonomy over their bodies "whether they like it or not".
That they will be FREE to vote "whether they like it or not."
That they will still be able to DREAM, aspire to be better, and achieve their goals "whether they like it or not."
MAGA women will eventually break from the bonds and chains that keep them down, "whether they like it or not" to realize that they LIKE what Kamala Harris is selling. That there is more that unites US than separates us.
