Day One WSJ Opinion

__________________________

Can we make a deal? How about 3 SCOTUS resignations and we'll look at it real closely.

I share the outrage, but posted because I thought it a current important topic.

Pardons can be issued pre-emptively. Ford pardoned Nixon, who had not been convicted of anything, or even indicted. n/t thesquanderer Nov 2024 #18

is what has put us in this nightmare position in the first place. Pardoning him would only embolden him and his cult, and encourage them to commit further acts of mayhem.

It will only encourage the fascists and haters. No we need to support our rule of law. Yes, the Supreme Court is a problem but we have to hold tight to the law. No pardons for trump or his people.

... get this out now. They have better timing than the WP... But to the point... I think a pardon would be seriously considered, by Biden or Harris (doubtful about Crooked Don). I think it would be a mistake. In hindsight, the Nixon pardon was a mistake. If a President "gets away with it," we should believe behavior will be repeated. I would, however, be lenient with punishment. No firing squad, no torture, no rape in prison... these things are not humane.

I agree he should be pardoned. Only because of the Supreme Court. They may rule everything in his favor, further eroding the constitution.

I would rather not have it tested with those corrupt rw justices.

Running for president because they let Nixon get pardoned. They have pushed the limits. Rove and Chaney trying their best to rewrite history to make a hero out of "I'm not a crook". Send to jail the message needs to be made crystal clear. No ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW!
