My 96 year old dad voted in what will probably be his last presidential election

He doesn't see or hear as well as he used to so we had to help him fill out the ballot - but his mind is still sharp! And his heart is still true blue.

2. My mother got to vote for Obama before she died.

I remember being so happy for her. When she was born, women had just gotten the right to vote. 80 years of white presidents, and all of a sudden, a man who looked like her.

And now, a beautiful brown skinned woman might be president. I could not be more proud.

9. My mom, a white woman, passed away in the spring of 2012

so she was unable to vote for Obama. However, in her coffin were photos of her beloved family members as well as portraits of Barak and Michelle, upon her final wishes. She loved both. She would be incredibly proud to vote for Kamala today.

4. My mother was in the early throes of dementia in 2008 and she forgot it was Election Day

She called me and asked me to take her to the voting place so she could vote for Obama. She would have loved to vote for VP Harris!

But I sure do miss my mom. Her last vote was for Obama, and boy oh boy she too would have sparkled to cast a ballot for Kamala today.
